yup im definately "furious" with it. whats the point of talkin down on them when they loose if you from the same area? u said the hawks loose yet "AGAIN" like they loose all the time. they're 8-5 with 3 game left. we could go 8-8 or 11-5. everybody loose to everybody in the NFL, thats how it is, but you are right that they aint the greatest "playoff" team but as long as you make it you got a chance. pitt won the whole thing as an 8 seat so as long as u gota chance thats alot bigger chance than all the teams that didnt make the playoffs

They lost to a sub .500 team YET AGAIN. There, is that better?

I want you to state exactly when their season will end. I think we are operating under different definitions of what's a "good" team. I think this team will be playing a game in the 2nd round of the playoffs (via bye or after winning in the 1st round). Beyond that, I'm not sure, I'm not going to make any statements.

State the day and place their season will end.

Shit happens. Colts lost to the Titans last week (and the Jags yesterday), Patriots got smoked by Miami and da bears lost to Miami as well. Even the best lose to sub .500 teams. There is a very fine line between good and bad teams and Arizona/seattle is no exception.

To Arizona's credit they played a great game. They have a lot of talent on their team and have been playin a lot better as of late.

It could have gone either way. I think if Mack Strong didn't fumble when Seattle was up by 3 and driving down the field to score again, Seattle wins.

Honestly, I don't know what your point is. Nobody is saying seattle is as good as they were last year and I don't hear to many people screaming superbowl. They are one of the best teams in the NFC but not good enough to make it all the way.

Im just a cynical person. You havent figured that ou yet?

The Hawks set a hight bar from last year. And when basicaly the WHOLE team returned, you expect smilar results. This year, we are 4 GW FG's from being 4-9. Now, as ive said before, if yall think thats good, then so be it. I, on the other hand, do not. We are an inconsistant team, ive been sayin it all year. And when the commentator for our game said the SAME thing i had, i felt sane knowing im not the ONLY one that sees it.

As a Seattle fan for almost ALL my life, i EXPECT this. Somehow, the Sonics won a championship, and i dont know how. Seattle just isnt a championship city for sports. I luv my Hawks, Sonics and M's. But lets face it, this city just does NOT care enough to put together GOOD teams to WIN. They care about casual fans who go and watch their games so they can accomodate potential Boeing and Microsoft clients to make this city more money to expand and fit MORE people and cause MORE traffic. I mean wow, have you SEEN what Bavasi has done this year? At least the FO of the Hawks has TRIED to do something. And i dont even wanna START on the whole Howard Shcultz era, ill never stop.

Go Huskies.

Comrade, Seattle has been plagued with injuries all year, of course they're going to be inconsistent.

And I'd like to point out that 2 of those 4 field goals were made while losing, while the other 2 were made while being tied. So even if you take those 4 FGs away, only two would be automatic losses, while the other two would have gone to OT. And like I mentioned before, it's a team effort to be placed in game winning situations.

As a Seattle fan for almost ALL my life, i EXPECT this.
Same here.

Seattle just isnt a championship city for sports.
I think we are becoming one. Obviously the city has been very excited about the hawks for the last several years.

I mean wow, have you SEEN what Bavasi has done this year?
I don't watch baseball.

Do you think they will have a first round bye? If the answer is no, then you are saying their season is over in the 1st round of the playoffs. If the answer is yes, then you are saying their season is over in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

I'm just trying to get you to commit to a definitive round the Hawks will be out in.

Here is my definitive round the Hawks will be out in: 2nd.

I feel some of your points, our teams have generally had very poor front office management in the past 25 years. Your thing about our city not being a championship town, however, is bullshit. There are really only 3 or 4 true championship towns per sport, and there are a hell of a lot more than 3 or 4 teams who have won championships in each sport.

In college sports, it does, but in professional sports, the "championship town" stuff doesn't matter. You have places like Anaheim, Miami (Florida Marlins, twice, the Heat once) & Tampa Bay winning championships with very very laid back, bandwagon fans. There are only two cities that have gone more professional sports seasons than Seattle without winning a major championship, and they both have reputations as being some of the most raucous, intense sports cities in the United States: Philadelphia & Cleveland.

As much as we'd like to think it does, winning in pro sports has very little to do with the city or fans, and everything to do with management decisions. All franchises are profit driven, all are going to cater to corporate interests, are going to at times, alienate their fanbase by what is a perceived lack of willing to spend $. The one exception I might make to this rule, is the case of the New York Yankees. In that situation, the size of the city (and corresponding size of the fan base) has enabled them to do things other teams could only dream of. But by and large, success in professional athletics has zero to do with what city wants it or will appreciate it the most.

And a quick note about the geography of sports fans in Seattle: It is true that our city proper does care about sports less than a lot of other cities. Snohomish and Pierce county hold the highest percentages of sports fans. A lot of folks in King County, especially Seattle proper, are not into sports. But at the metropolitan area level, we are an average sports town. No better, no worse. The fact that we haven't won anything since 1979 doesn't have anything to do w/ our city and fans, it's b/c of:

1) Two historic playoff chokes ('94 Sonics, '01 Mariners)
2) The worst officiated Super Bowl in the history of the game
3) Traditionally Poor Front Office Management.

I have no fucking clue, just like you dont. The playoffs arent here and the season aint over. If we get home game first and road game second, then you have your answer. if we go on the orad first, then you have your answer. Jesus H Christ man, what the fuck else do you want???

As i stated, now for the 3rd time: we will lose our road playoff game.

There is no chance the Hawks will play on the road before they play at home in the playoffs this year. The only scenerio where the Seahawks won't have a home playoff game is if they aren't in the Playoffs altogether. You obviously don't understand how the NFL Playoffs work.

I wanted to get a concrete prediction out of you so that at the end of the year, we could do a little "who was right, who was wrong, maybe we both were right" kind of thing. But I'm done, I couldn't get the answer out of you I wanted b/c you don't understand the NFL Playoffs system.

Fundamentals man, it's about time you master them so I don't feel like I'm talking to a chick or a child. If you are one of the two, I'm sorry and stand corrected.

Of course I knew the answer already and was playing dumb, I wanted to test you b/c you need this basic knowledge if you're going to understand what the hell's going on the last few weeks of the regular season.

As of 5:17pm on December 11 you did not know, so what reason do I have to believe that you would know at 7:39am on December 12th???
