Decembrists?

Anybody like them? It's pretty much the only band besides Modest Mouse I hear my homie listen to and I've been liking them more and more. He just burned me the album "Castaways and Cutouts" and it's pretty decent. I think they have very interesting, playful lyrics.

Any fans or opinions?

I love the Decemberists, the lyrics are really cool, have you heard Mariners Revenge (from Picaresque)? Castaways and Cutouts is a superb cd (July July and Legionnaire's Lament!). When ever i come back from Davis, i always have a mix cd of decemberists playing.

Oh you should definitely download Picaresque and Her Majesty. I don't really like their latest cd,The Crane Wife, but it has Summersong which is quite exceptional.

I checked out okkervil river (Black Sheep Boy), and they're pretty good, i still like the decemberists more, but i'll check out Neutral Milk Hotel now, thanks for the links.

Mariner's Revenge is great..one of their more entertaining songs. I love their storytelling. I got Picaresque from the homie the other day, too...
