I ONLY BUY CD's THAT ARE WORTH PAYING $15 for...

i burn the albums or tracks that are tight enough to burn but aint worth buying the album, and lets be real, most of the yay area work comin out nowadays have about 17 tracks with only 2 fuckin dope tracks on'em... fuck that shit, i'll pay cash for niggas that come with tight shit...

there are just a handfull of artists that ive downloaded all of their shit and then went out and bought all their albums, but them albums are a rarity, ie RBL Posse earlier work, IMP, HITMAN, 11/5, DRE DOG, DRU DOWN all of these niggas earlier work and all of the DEF JUX artists and producers...

You are talking food out of the mouth our love ones.
c'mon now, if he/she puts out a record with only 2 tight tracks on it then he/she shouldnt be rappin in the first place and find other ways on making money to put food in their mouths, lol fuck charity, coz thats what most of the artists are looking for nowadays, tryna use the BAY underground scene to make a quick buck just coz they from the BAY... talkin like "if you rep the bay, then support the artists from the bay" fuck that shit, i rep the bay, but ill support the artists that deserve it...

and to answer ur question, it aint stealing, its marketing.... coz if its realy dope then its gonna be bought....

Quality albums will sell. If your shit isn't selling, then either enough people aren't hearing it or it's just weak shit. I ALWAYS download an album and listen to it before I buy it. There is NO ARTIST who I will take the chance on. Who's fault is that? It's the artists. People always have and always will buy quality albums. Thanks to mp3's we are able to save money by not buying the large amount of bullshit that has been flooding the industry for the last 6 or 7 years. There are only a few artists artists in each region of the country putting out albums worth buying. The rest of the artists are repetitive and sound exactly the same. Don't blame the consumers for not buying your albums. Don't blame mp3's for taking away sales. Artists need to blame themselves for making bullshit. I'm not going to buy your album just based on where you are from, who you are associated with or anything else other than it being good. Stop focusing on making excuses for your shit not selling and start focusing on making quality music that people will want to buy. Now because of the internet everybody is a rapper and everybody has an album out. The consumer now has to sort through thousands of "artists" and most of them aren't that good. You say burning albums is taking food out of the artists mouths? Well buying wacc ass albums is taking food out of the consumers mouths. I've noticed that a majority of the labels and artists, including the ones on this board don't give a fucc about the consumers. Your only concern is getting our money, you don't care that some people only buy one or two albums a year because that's all they can afford. So if those two albums are complete shit why should they buy another album and risk wasting money again? I don't care wether or not you can feed your family, I'm not going to buy your album just so you can pay your bills. I buy albums for the music, nothing else. If you're struggling because music is your only source of income, then you better start working harder or get a job. I work my ass off every fuccing day at work and I value every cent I earn. Your money is worth just as much as mine, so stop acting like yours is more important.

TIM & TADOU: Me personally, I'm not starving & this music isn't my only hustle. My scrill is deversified in a couple other places. That's what a lot of companies are doing nowadays. My hustle is tight, so I don't know if your were questioning my hustle or was it just a general statement.

Since you're so bold as to tell us you download, tell us what Bay Area artist you've downloaded, Killa Tays, LAROO, C-Bo, Done Deal, Luniz, C-Lim, WCM, Mac Mall, Keaks, KVE, Mr. Kee, Dutch, what artist? Do ya'll think anyone who downloads can tell an artist to their face they downloaded their shit and they would cool with that. There are a lot of bullshit, so I buy word of mouth.

I don't understand how some folks can say that downloading is not stealing. If an artist did not uploaded him/herself, then it's STEALING!!! There are a lot of places where you can get reviews of cd's before you even buy em. I know we're not living in a perfect world, I guess that's just wishfull thinking.

What if artist uploaded snippets of their whole album, will that help a lot of you from downloading bullshit? Another wishfull thinking.
