Why is the media so hyped up on this guy? He's just a soccer player. I know the US isn't big on soccer but people are hoping this guy will bring a buzz to the sport like basketball.

Personally, I don't care but does anyone else feel the media is doing too much covering this guy, his life and his wife?

I haven't heard too much in the media about him at all. Just remember that movie "Bend it like Beckam". But then again, I don't read the papers a lot or watch a lot of news. So feel free to disregard my opinion in this thread lol.

dude is a great soccer player man....just like techno tho he is fucking huge everywhere but the U.S.

I understand he's a soccer player but it's just overexposure when they're tracking him down as if he's a movie star or artist.

I haven't seen a sports player get that much attention, including his wife and her supposed clothing line.
