it doesn't matter what your potential audience listens to though. an artist's prerogative shouldn't be to diagnose their potential audience because at the end of the day everyone just listens to whatever the fuck they want, and not everyone likes the same shit.
I agree 100% but the reality is that some of the people in here are quick to bash on artist and really get harsh with shit. Granted, it only affects those who let it get to them, but don't let it be a Bay Area rapper because it's automatically tight to many in here. And a lot of times it's garbage. If that's a lie, the tracks that have been posted in here & got major props & love from Siccness members would have blown up outside the region, not just made noise within the Bart board.

Am I hating? I don't think I am for I have nothing against it, but I will state that it does seem biased at times. And we have those people everywhere. They support independent music simply because it's from their area / block etc.

Do I support music that comes out the Salad Bowl? No, not all of it because most of it (just like every region in the world) the music is garbage for the most part. I (myself) do not jump on that bandwagon and say I support local music simply because it comes out my area. I won't go as far as saying I hate it, but I don't like all of it.

Blowing smoke up artist asses, dick riding, being a bunch of yes men because he's your favorite artist, or from your area only contributes to more whack music to keep coming out.

i don't think anybody blindly just says they like an artist because they're from where they're from. if someone is from where you're from it's probably easier to relate to the sound or subject matter to some people. honestly, what incentive would someone have to lie about feeling someone that doesn't make music that resonates with them in some way?

for the most part everyone was respectful and gave the music a listen before stating their opinion in the last thread. if DEA's response was "you've never listened to it in your car, your opinion is invalid." my response would be that i've (we all have) heard tracks on youtube and thought to myself "where is the mp3 of this shit so i can listen to it in my car" before. if your music doesn't compel people to listen to it in their car it's kinda ridiculous to tell them that they need to do it to have an opinion on the music. it's your bad for making tracks that people listen to and say, "fuck no i'm not listening to that shit in my car" if they even think about it that much.

I have to disagree with the first part of your statement & I'm sticking to the biased statement, but that's simply my opinion.

On the second part I agree, but disagree on the fact that a lot dudes in here just jump in on the bashing for the fun of it LOL!

There is always the same few members Tryna jump on my threads that have nothing to do with my music and talk shit about my music. That's it. Fuck how u listen to my shit if you don't like it. U can listen to that shit thru some tin cans for what its worth. Yall Tryna shine that negative light my way but you're taking away from those that do like my music. So if u know you don't like my shit and you know u ain't never gone like my shit then keep it moving. And if you've never slapped my new shit in the whip than you really don't know what ur missing. Do you?

i have an informed opinion based on giving your other music a listen that i do not want to hear anything you have to say on a track. your body of work doesn't move me at all, and that's ok. it's ok for me because i don't have to like your music and it's ok for you because you're going to keep on pushing or w/e the fuck you do. good for us.

my point is that it's not really productive to feel like you're obligated to diagnose people who don't fuck with your music as though they have a problem. nobody has a problem because they like or don't like certain music. a lot of people could phrase their criticism more constructively but honestly it's not their responsibility to, you would just appreciate it if they did and that's completely understandable.

Do you not get it. If you dont like my music then keep it moving. I don't make music for the few of the same people that bash my music I make it for people that like my music and slap that shit. So you don't like my music so go post in a kreyshawn thread or a lil b thread. You don't like my music ok we all get it. Go support your favorite artist go read a book. Are you starting to get my point ? If youre not a fan of my music, I don't really care what your opinion is of my music.
