I know it premiers today, and a lot of catholics are going to have their panties in a bunch, but I had a few things to I need to get off my chest.

1. I was born & raised Catholic, but not by choice.

2. I'm not practicing, and I do believe in God, but I don't know about the Catholic religion itself.

3. The book itself was excellent, but anyone who read it can tell you, the end was a little dissapointing.

4. I don't think the book is anti-catholicism at all, and I'm sure people will wish me to hell for saying that.

5. I'm going to see the movie, anyone else?

...i was born and raised catholic...not by choice, but i've come to accept that it doesn't mean i have more reason to "reject" or doubt Catholicism...

...having said that, I think it has very little to do with the book or movie...

...the shit is fiction that is firmly rooted in reality...but fiction nonetheless...i would like to read the book first before i see the movie, but it might be too late for that...

The code is bullshit anyway. I watched a 2 hour special awhile back that said it was. Hes a fuckin artist that lived 500 years ago not 2000. How the fuck does he know.

I heard it was getting bad reviews.

But then again, anyone who reads a book will hate the movie. That's how I am with the Godfather and Braveheart...I read the books before I saw the movies and now I dont think the movies are any good.

Considering more people read the Da Vinci Code than any other new book in years, they're all gonna get fuckin let down just like the critics.

Passion had legitimate heat heading in, and the critics were almost CERTAIN it wouldn't be a hit. This movie is running off of perceived heat alone, and EVERYONE expects it to be one of the biggest movies of the year.

Looks interesting to me, but then again, I can enjoy C-Span and the History Channel. It's gonna be an interesting summer

Word, thats what people have to realize when they watch it, Its just a fiction movie, kind of like Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider, but w/out the action. The reason christians/catholics are getting pissed is because the writer of the book refused to aknowledge that his evidence is flawed, and that he stretches factual evidence to conform to his agenda/theme. Im a catholic and im probably not going to see this because the writer is basicly trying to stir up contraversy just to make some dough. The formula for makin dough nowadays is benifiting on someones misfortunes, or creating someones misfortunes for your own benifit.
