I got Santana for the AL (2.77 era, 19-6, 245 strikeouts, only 47 walks)

How was Colon not deserving of it?
Colon 21-8, 3.48 ERA, 222.2 IP, 157 SO, 1.16 WHIP, .254 OPP AVG
Santana 16-7 2.87 ERA, 231.2 IP, 238 SO, 0.97 WHIP, .210 OPP AVG

Santana only lost out on the Cy Young cuz the Twins scored less runs than any team in the AL last year and couldn't get him more wins.

Not that Colon had a bad year and that anyone with 20 wins shouldn't be considered, but Santana was by far the better pitcher.

By far to me = Better in every category that measures a pitcher's individual performance. I think the only stat that Colon had on him was wins, and that depends on the team not just on the pitcher.

Santana killin em..

So is Webb.. and they both been puttin it down for a few years now.

Santana SHOULD have won it last year. One thing they dont look at and they SHOULD is run support. Colon got hella run support. Thats it. Thats why he got more wins.

If a pitcher isnt backed by a team that can score runs and win games for him, does that mean he's not as good a pitcher?

This page on MLB.com has a comparison of the two from last season:

see.. the ONLY advantage he had over Santana is walks.. and by TWO. two measly walks. and wins.. but like I said. run support.

since we're on the subject of pitchers.. they been airing classic d-back games on fox sports az the past couple days. they showed Randy Johnson's 20 strikeout game. HOLLY SHIT. That shit just made me remember back then when the Big Unit was UNTOUCHABLE. Ive never seen such dominance in ANY sport like Randy had in that game. Man.. he was throwin the NASTIEST sliders that would cut 20 inches. his fastballs were clockin in consistantly at 96-99.. he threw one that was 106. I was like GODDAMN. that was the sickest performance I've ever seen from a pitcher. He'd madd dog fools too after he struck them out. he knew he was the shit.

Far better to me would be someone having 10 more wins(Colon actually had more)...or someone letting the opposing team only hit .100 points less(Santana was .044 points less than Colon)...or an ERA seperated by 2.00(Colon was only .61 behind Santana)....

Johan Santana is FAR better than Gil Meche.

Johan Santana was not FAR better than Colon last year.
