**************************
NASHVILLE, TN, March 3, 2008 – The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with free agent TE Alge Crumpler on a multi-year contract today. Crumpler joins the Titans after spending his entire seven-year career with the Atlanta Falcons.

“The thing that stands out when you look at Alge as a player is his production and reliability,” said Titans General Manager Mike Reinfeldt. “He is a complete tight end; a dynamic receiver for the Falcons offense, who also contributed as blocker to a run offense that ranked first in the league in three of the last four years.”

Crumpler (6-2, 262) has appeared in 108 career games with 93 starts and has notched 316 receptions for 4,212 yards and 35 touchdowns in seven NFL seasons. The four-time Pro Bowler has been one of the NFL’s most dynamic players over the last four seasons (2004-2007), leading all tight ends (min. 100 receptions) with a 13.6-yards per catch avg. He has also been a consistent target having caught at least 40 receptions and five touchdowns in each of the last four campaigns. Crumpler enjoyed one of his best seasons in 2005 when he registered career-highs with 65 receptions and 877 yards. He followed that campaign up with a career-best eight touchdown receptions in 2006. Last season, the seven-year veteran enjoyed another solid campaign, grabbing 42 receptions for 444 yards and five touchdowns.

Crumpler was originally a second-round selection (35th overall) by the Falcons in the 2001 NFL Draft. The North Carolina product was a first-team All-ACC selection as a senior and was named a finalist for the John Mackey award, which is given to the top tight end in college football. A native of Wilmington, N.C., Crumpler played every position on the field except quarterback and guard during his time at New Hanover High School.

Yeah this is a real good move by the Titans, you give a young developing QB a nice security blanket in Crumpler. You got a good bruiser in Lendell White, if they can pick up a burner at WR in free agency or the draft they will have a real solid offense.

I'M NOT CLOWNING THE TITANS. I ACTUALLY LIKE THE TITANS. SHIT I LIKE VINCE YOUNG. WHAT I'M SAYING IS THAT YOUNG ISN'T A GOOD PASSER AND HE ISN'T. HIS MECHANICS ARE BAD AND SO ARE HIS NUMBERS. MAYBE HE'LL GET BETTER.. WE'LL SEE. BUT DON'T BE ALL GAY AND THINK I'M "HATIN" ON THIS TEAM BECAUSE I STATE AN OPINION. MANY OTHERS SHARE MY SENTIMENTS ON THE MAN.

why do u want me to do myself? well sorry but i will not fulfill ur fantasy and IMO young was better in college and i feel he'll be better in the League thats all. so maybe u should calm urself and u wont have to be solitary anymore and go find a chick or dude what ever u do
