Man dies at Percy Avenue Market in YC

A man died Friday night after allegedly robbing a Yuba City grocery store and trying to flee.
Police responded to the Percy Avenue Market at around 8:30 p.m. after they received reports of a man who had been shot.
Deputy Police Chief Rob Landon said the suspect robbed the market, but never left the premises.
“He made it to the other side of the parking lot and expired,” Landon said.
Landon did not release the identity of the shooter, but friends of the store clerk said weapons are kept in the store.
The deputy police chief would not say whether a store clerk shot the alleged robber nor confirm that the deceased died of gunshot wounds.
“It’s been robbed before,” said Matthew Lewis, 26, a neighbor of the market.
Lewis said he ran to the market from his home across the street after he heard two gunshots.
“I wanted to check on my friends,” he said. “I’ve known the owners for a while. I wanted to see if they were OK.”
Police did not release the deceased man’s name, pending family notification.
Landon did say, however, the alleged robber had a handgun and money from the store on him.
Police are still investigating the incident.

i know some of the gang bangers are goign to come in here and say "shit happens like this everyday".....but not really around here....and have it happen to the corner store that i allways go to is hella fucked up....nice ass people run the store even though there prices are hella high....i seen the dead body after i heard the gun shots and went to go check up on my homies at the store...its hella fucked up for both sides....you gotta protect your self but how much money is worht a life yuh know? the lady that kilt him is hella nice and was cryin when she explained what happend....he kept askin for more money and she act like she was going to get some and just pult out her .38 and blasted him right in the face....she feared for her life but i still feel bad for the dude who probally went in there just tryin to come up and the worst thing on his mind was prob gettin locked down for a minute but ended up dyin....
