no he's a dumbfuck who listened to draft "experts" who over valued his worth and got butt hurt when Al davis pulled an al davis and went for speed!
I think he's being told by another team or two that they will be willing to pay him what he wants if they can get him next year. Of course he's gonna hold out if he's listening to other teams that are telling him shit like that.

That's exactly why the Niners have filed tampering charges with the Jets.

Marketing agent Mike Ornstein says he has made NFL receiver Michael Crabtree enough money in endorsement deals that the still-unsigned first-round draft pick won't be pressured to play football for a while. "He has made over 750 grand in marketing dollars," Ornstein said. Crabtree was selected No. 10 overall by the San Francisco 49ers but has not come to terms with the team on a new contract. "It is not that he doesn't want to play, but he is not under the gun to," Ornstein said

Man this fool and his agent are fucking stupid!

i do payroll for a living so lets work this out a bit. ok lets say 800000...right off top he is taxed 25% fed 9.3% state (bonus tax which endoresment would be) 6.2% fica and 1.45% medi thats

800000 - 200000.00 - 49600.00 - 11600.00 - 74400.00 = $464400.00

Thats before all his agents, and advisors. I would imagine low end lets say 20% for them...again thats low end..and that comes off the 800000 so thats another 160000.00

464400.00 - 160000.00 = 304400.00

im not in cali but I know he doesnt live in a small house so im sure he put at least 100000 down I would imagine, what about taxes on thata s well, call that another 125000.00 he is now down to 179400.00

so he must be dricing a fairly decent car? maybe say 50000 plus taxes and tage on that another say 5000 drops him to 120000.00 range....... doesnt account for daily living either. Yep he doesnt need to hurry to get signed.
damn man what you got against commas. i was trying to digest your post but don't feel like figuring out that 464400.00=464,000.

"How can he be losing any money if he never had it?"

My guess. He's getting paid by another team under the table to sit out and next year he will be drafted by the same team who will be giving him the money he wants.

i wanna know if crabtree can get a loan right now against any future nfl earnings?

im thinking the guy, his agent or accountant that said he's made 750k is after taxes???, so he must be ok for a year or so.

if it's 750k before taxes, tahn crabtree aint that fuckin smart, and he is listening to the wrong people and he is letting them manage his financials w/o him, like tree thinks since there professionals he soudlnt have to worry bout money.

what a fuckin dumbfuck - D.T.A. . i get this feeling that he is gonna be the type of player you hear on the news in the future that he got swindled from his accountant, financial advisor, and agent just like what happened to tyson.

i wodner what crabtree scored on the nfls wonderlic test? shit if vince young got a 6, than crabtree must be half at 3.

Crabtree is fuckin stupid. Just because he thinks he should of got drafted higher he thinks he should get that type of money. No you didnt get drafted at that spot so you dont earn that money. this sit out shit could greatly affect how much money he will make next year.

i don't know if i really want him wit the niners anymore cuz of the way hes acting, but i really do think he would help the niners in the long run later on in the season when the passing game really starts clicking. slat passes to crabtree.

so why not put in place rookie caps or draft slot caps? This would stop holdouts, so even if they held out till next year, the maximum earnings for a rookie is a set limit regardless.

I see a few positives from this

It would ease the hurt from busts and also stop holdouts as the rookie could not get any higher regardless.
