Castillo failed to make weight again!
He has two hours to drop two pounds (Corrales has yet to make up his mind whether he would fight Castillo even if he was to lose the weight).

UPDATE: Castillo has two hours to lose two pounds. Period. The Nevada commission will not allow him to lose more, saying it is medically unsafe. If he can't lose two pounds, apparently there is no fight.

Promoter Bob Arum is furious at Castillo. "This is a complete disgrace," said Arum. "As far as I'm concerned, I do not represent him. If I was Corrales, I wouldn't fight him. This is a disgrace to the sport of boxing."

Jose Luis Castillo has just weighed in at 140 or FIVE POUNDS above the lightweight limit. Corrales weighed in right at the 135 limit. After Corrales made weight, Castillo got on the scale again and weighed 139.5. Castillo now has two hours to lose two pounds. Promoter Bob Arum has stated previously that Castillo was facing big penalties if he could not make weight. It is rumored he would forfeit 25% of his purse to Corrales. (More to come!!!)

I was soooooooooooo phucking waiting for this fight.
Hell I even upgraded my Comcast service to include Showtime just for this fight. I will be very pissed if it doesn't go down tomorrow!
Everyone is advising Corrales not to fight, and I can't blame him if he choses to pull out. He's going to remember the beating he took last time for fighting a slightly heavier Castillo....
My gut feeling is that Corrales won't fight at a catch weight again....

he weighed a 2nd time at 139.5 , so now its up to corrales . if he wants to fight a non title fight he might get caught up like last time. this is weak on castillo's part . its his job to make weight. he signed a contract , he needs to come through .. he fucked up .. i think that chico's warrior heart will take over and he will fight anyway . but i wont be mad if he doesn't.

Castillo fails to make weight; The fight is off!
By Mike Sloan at the scales
5:25PM: Corrales promoter Gary Shaw announces that the fight is off. Castillo's promoter Bob Arum says he is "mortified and completely embarrassed. The SHOWTIME telecast will go on with IBF flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan vs Luis Maldonado as the main event.

For some reason, this does bug me too much.

If JLC is a true 140, then he should move up.
140 is stacked as it is, adding Castillo into the mix is a serious threat the division (as deep as it is).

Castillo by anything he wants to anyone at 140.

castillos been struggling to make 135 for a while now...but pressure from promoters and the promise of a big payday are the reasons hes even attempted to fight at 135.

I'm a big fan of "fan favorite" fighters, such as Castillo.
He's a future hall of famer who has given us great fights.
But someone please take this mofo out the "juego"....

I hope there's a 3rd fight (you know Diego wants it),
but it will have to take place at a catch weight of 140 lbs.
Ricky Hatton's father recently spoke of their interest of coming back down to Super Lightweight (142 lbs) to fight Castillo if he was able to get past Corrales. But he said that he heard that Castillo was planning on moving up to Welterweight (147 lbs) instead of the Super Lightweight division.
So what I'm getting at is that if you were hoping to see Castillo VS Corrales 3 at Super Lightweight when Chico moves up in weight eventually,
well that ain't happening if what Hatton's father said is true....

dont trip,we got hopkins-tarver & wright-taylor coming up next.
My heart is with B-Hop, he's one of my favorite fighters.
But unfortunately for him, Tarver's going to destroy him.
It won't be much of a fight, B-Hop's giving up a lot of size and power....

The Wright VS Taylor match's going to be a good bout.
But don't expect a slugfest. It's going to be a fun fight to watch from a technical stand point. And that to me is just as good as an all out war.
I'm picking Wright for the upset, but who knows with these crazy judges now days. HBO has a lot of stock on Taylor.
But thank God this fight is taking place outside of Las Vegas!
Hopefully Wright gets a fair shot come decision time....
