Since everyone does shitty work at their own jobs and do short cuts and treat customers with disrespect why do people expect better behavior out of police?

I know not every cop is the same but can't we attest and say it's just human behavior when you know you have the upper hand in any situation :cheeky: to act like a dick.

I hear a lot of stupid cop tales and stories about why certain people are so-called innocent. The majority of stories are based on they were doing nothing wrong but they got caught up with drugs :ermm: I know there's different standards for some folk, but come on

(I don't consider weed a drug but if you're gonna carry it around like a dumbass then you deserve to be caught)

There was a psychological experiment done with college students in the 70's about authority. They split college students up as prison guards and prisoners. They had to stop the experiment because the prison guards abused the prisoners.

The test revealed that in certain situations if the upper hand is given more than likely that power is abused.

Yes, I know, that's the study everyone uses to say "it's not cops fault!"

The difference is THOSE PEOPLE SHOULD BE WEEDED OUT before becoming pigs, and they wouldnt be called pigs. It's simple to understand. You don't give any joe blow authority just because he fills out an application, and runs an obstacle course.

I was going to become a cop, but I decided to finish high school

Yea I agree the selection process isn't thorough. I've heard of a few kids from my high school that have become cops and none have really what it takes to uphold the law, considering their previous lifestyles.

Anyone can become a cop in Oakland since they're so desperate for help

I don't think fucking off at a major corporation's job is gonna affect too many people. Cops directly affect people and there's just so many bad things about cops you could go on and on. (not the whole idea of the job but the people themselves)

Either way, fuckin around on your job is nowhere near as significant or damaging as when cops fuck around.

because unlike retail or customer service, you have taken an oath to uphold a constitution.. a cop can lock you up with their abuse, what can the pizza man do? take long to deliver so your pizza is cold?

So you think someone who carrys weed, (although u dont consider it a drug) deserves to be caught, but u dont see why someone who abuses authority and acts like a 'dick' should be treated accordingly?

Thanks to our system of locking up people for drug use and petty theft, we have overcrowded prisons in a state with the highest return rate...

care to take a stab at why?

pretty much what redrum said, there is a big difference and they hold alot of power so with that power comes alot of responsibility, although some cops abuse that power out of their own personal hatred.

It's very simple.

They are held to a higher standard because of the authority they have. They are chosen to represent and protect ''us''...oh yeah, by the way...who pays thier salary? Seriously.
HAHA, MY POPS TOLD ME THE OTHER DAY "I PAY THEIR SALARIES AND THEY STILL HARASS ME"

SOME COPS ARE JUST STUPID ASSHOLES.... WHEN I WAS YOUNGER A COP STOPED MY MOM AND STARTED TELLING HER I WAS THIS AND I WAS THAT, THAT I HAD DONE THIS AND A THIRD.... NOW WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING
