Leno is not funny to me. I honestly don't know a single person that likes him. NBC made a mistake in my opinion.

Conan will be back somewhere and you know it.

LOL @ him spending lots of money on stupid shit the past week just to screw over NBC. The man is a genius.

NBC pushed him out.. I'd be greedy with the pay out too.. I'm giving up my job.. not to mention everyone else that's part of the show. Leno gave him the show/timeslot and since his ratings are laggin, they want to push Conan back?

There is professional courtesy.. its why people make Leno out to be the villain.
Actually, Leno has nothing to do with it. Executives at NBC choose appropriate time slots for the shows based on ratings/number of viewers. I doubt Leno has any say in that process. And it was, in fact, Conan's show that flopped, so NBC chose to put Leno back in that time slot.

O'Brien landed the "Tonight" show after successfully hosting "Late Night," which airs an hour later, since 1993. But he quickly stumbled in the ratings race against Letterman. Under Leno, the "Tonight" show had been the ratings champ at 11:35 p.m. Eastern, but he proved an instant flop with his experiment in prime time.

Both shows flopped.

Conan's brand of comedy = bad for the Tonight Show crowd, plain & simple. He has held back his act this entire time, until this last week. The ratings have been MUCH better through this last week as well. Baffling.

^ I think Conan was being to reserved when starting out, thinking his "style" was to over-board for the time slot... he should just of been his crazy ass self like he's doing toward the end, and he would of competed in the ratings.

I predict Leno will lose rating from this... and kimmel and letterman will benefit

Both their shows' ratings were "low".. but Jay's show was new.. and so there wasnt something to compare to.

I also felt (as mentioned in the thread above) that Conan held back.. Conan has his following, but the Tonight show has its own. So the followers of the Tonight show were gonna make comparisons between the 2.. so Conan was trying to take it easy til people got familiar with him and his style of humor.

I believe that NBC was behind the time slot change, but Jay could have said something so that Conan could run his show as well as Jimmy Fallon. Jay has been on NBC for a long time, so he has some influence.

This is what I've come to understand... regardless, Conan is gonna have opportunities for his own show. But the fact he had the "Tonight show" name made it more traditional.

I do like some of Leno's jokes as alot of the late night hosts.. But Jimmy Kimmel and Conan are the guys I like to watch and I think their formats are better.
