I made a roasted chicken with a mustard/wine crust, mushroom risotto and garlick brussle sprouts. It was just me and my pops who's on a low cholesterol diet (he's 83) so no potato casarole like I'd usually make. But shit was good even though I had to go easy on the fats.

EDIT: Dana, did you use cheddar on that lasagna?

Well, seeing is how the recipe I use to make my lasagna is pretty much the same recipe made in my family for years, I would think that my way is the way that they all prefer it.

on christmas eve we always have spaghetti with tamales. it has been that way since i can remember.

christmas dinner always includes a turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, gravy(that real clog an artery type), cranberry, rolls, and my grandma's famous fruit salad with extra cherries.....

your food looks bomb also...

i tease my aunts and uncles about us being legends in a hundred years. i am passing all this down to my kids.

I don't really care for 'soft' cheeses like ricotta or whatever. So yeah, cheddar lasagna.

It's obvious you know how to throw down in te kitchen, Dana, but can I make a suggestion for something to try lasagna-wise if you don't dig ricotta that doesn't involve chedder?

Try making an Alfredo-y sauce and using that instead of the ricotta, it's pretty simple, I just make a light roux then add heavy cream bring up to temp and melt in a bunch a parmisian.

My favorite lasagna is a layer of pasta, then a layer of red sauce, meat and veggies (I usually use italian sausage, onion, peppers, mushrooms, zuchinni squash and carrots), then a layer of the cheese sauce above, then a layer of mozzerella-has to be good mozz not the block shit. Then like any lasagna I repeat the layers as often as necesary and cover the top with mozz and parm.

I'm sure your lasagna is good but sometime when you feel like trying a new lasagna you should fuck with this one.

That does sound pretty good, but I am cool off the zuccini, carrots and shit in mine.

I use bell peppers, onions, tomatos, mushrooms, ground beef and italian sausage.

Oh, I can only eat a lil bit of alfredo sauce before it becomes overwhelming to me, so that would probably fuck off my whole lasagna experience.

Besides, my dad would have a heart attack if I didn't make his lasagna 'the right way'....LOL (true story, he made me cry on Xmas Eve in the process of making that one.)
