I was recently sent this myspace page for an unknown artist by the name of Chill Scrill, I would guess he would like it reviewed.
I attempted to find out some backround on this unheard of artist, yet it seems this guy is just to busy to set up his website at http://www.selfmade-ent.com/
a few pics were available from his Myspace page, given an overall view of who he is and whats he's doing.
From the photos I can already tell the direction that this review is headed too...
Gotta floss the grilly fa rilly...right?
Ahhh yes..the ever so popular constipated tough guy look never fails
and if that fails...get lots of tattoos
Repping the Central Coast...right? That Negro League jacket totally represents the struggle yo !
Ok, I've managed to make it past the Myspace page and I will now attempt to give this guy my whorehearted opinion of his music...
thisn aint gonna be easy
"My Scraper" feat Mougab?
Another scraper song? Wait what year is it? do cats still even drive scrapers anymore?..I though cats had move on by now. The chorus of this song is sad and annoying..dude is manage to deliver this ok but its really hard to take this dude serious. These lyrics are unoriginal and pretty boring overall and offer nothing I havent heard from 200 other cats with their scraper songs...on the flip side, the beat wasnt half bad.
"Stunt Hard"
GREAT!....autotune just killed any hope for this song..Apparently Chill Bill, or Scrill Will is the biggest boss of his set, runs with the mobb, and is just running shit...I must not be up on game cause Ive never heard of this dude.
He's pushing big dope and taking young thugs to school...Did it all himself and he stunts hard...Life must be hard in seaside...He killed the track with "mixtape mobb you bitch ass NIGGAs"....
"Scrapen up Paper"
I really hope he had a feature on this song cause the line.."plus I shot niggas like i was trying to give my life up....Im just sayin my whole life I been a gangsta" prove dude is tryin way too hard..song isnt the worst Ive heard, but its clear dude is trying way too hard.
(edit : apparently it was Mougab that said niggas and not chill Will.....still doesn't change my opinion of the song)
"Wishin on a shootin star"
Will Scrill apparently is a dope deal and he been puttin it down for his turf and "servin niggas" on the block...Once again he's from the mobb and rtiding hard...tuff guy rapping about living that ghetto life in Seaside Ca
"Rims older than my baby mama"
horrible title for a song, so far hes rappin about riding wit chops and plottin on robberies...he smoke 1/8th blunts and ridin big rims and getting guap..
"pull up to the light and watch the muthafuckas spin" man...who the fuck still rides spinners? I aint seen em in at least 2 years, even in Oakland...cmon now dude. Only good thing about this song is the beat knocks, but Bill Scrill just ruins the song overall.
Fuck it I cant take anymore of this nonsense...Rap isnt for everyone and this dude is tryin to hard to be a gangsta from Seaside, I mean shit,,isnt Seaside by like Carmel and Monterey? Guess it aint too hard to be the most gangsta thug in such a small quiet community.
The music does nothing for me, does not impress me, and actually made me laugh several times..Any suburbanite white kid yellin "nigga" all over his album and claimin to run with the mobb and be a boss...well, you get very little respect from me or most folks I know. The Myspace page could only hinder the possibility of you getting any further in music as it makes you look like a 3rd string Malibu's Most Wanted wannabe man.
Be yourself man, and if being yourself is adapting another race's image, swagger and vocab and tryin way to hard to be accepted by them..well, good luck bro.
I cant continue this review any further..I think I've made my point and i truly hope you take some time out and find yourself instead of trying way too hard to be "running with the mobb" and "jacking niggaz"
Your image isnt threatening, its actually laughable...you dont come off as "hard"...you come off as "misguided and foolish" I wasnt aware that the "MOB" was in Seaside.
I would strongly recommend taking the time to find yourself before you waste any more money into your "rap career".
Im sure your too busy plotting licks and servin bricks to even read this, So if you happen to read this in between fuckin model hoes and couting racks...I hope you dig deep within and find your true image.
Sorry man..you music is just to gangsta for me
3 / 10 ( i actually liked a few of the beats)
