I love war games. especially the hard ones that involve complicated thought which makes only a select few play them.

for the average person chess is hard to comprehend and play because many people don't think in the concept of governing dynamics. most people think linearly in both their plans and activities seeing only one way of going about things regardless of how the dynamics of their environment will and can change.

for instance, the average person thinks: wake up, go to work, get a check, spend it, repeat. many don't consider the fact that suzy the hoe and/or bob the asshole play a significant role in their daily routines and can emmensely affect ones routine. the decision making of others is critical to our life objectives.

the person that can completely grasp how to plan and execute in a dynamic environment is usually a smart muthafucka with great survival instincts.

The evolution of chess to games like civilizations shows that creatively the human mind craves to understand the complex of situational circumstance.

The game is like chess * 100. It is one of the few games that put political relationship models, economics, time and resource management, and conflict resolution in one complete system.

It shocks me how closely the situations in the game can be related to day to day phenomena. From news events on CSPAN to a relationship with a girlfriend all can be extrapolated from comprehensively playing the game.

I know you probably haven't played it so if you're deep into the typical GOM subject matter it is worth a view. If you have and still can't relate to what I'm saying you're not playing the game correctly or not playing the game for educational purposes more than entertainment.

systems should be evaluated for learning not for mindless wastes of time. If a game doesn't enhance your intelligence more than excite your emotions it is worthless playing.

But I can't front I still love playing Hitman Contracts. sometimes you just gotta walk around and kill people in creative ways :p

freeciv.org not as good as the real thing. but its free and its a jump off into the real thing.

copied from freeciv.org

In Freeciv you compete against several opponents to found cities, use them to support a military and economy, and finally to complete an empire that survives all encounters with its neighbors to emerge victorious. Each opponent may be either another human or be controlled by the computer. All players begin at the dawn of history with a handful of units - typically with an explorer and a couple of settlers in 4000 BC — and race to expand outward from those humble beginnings.

Criteria for Victory

Achieving success requires a balance between economic expansion, military strength, and technological development. Not only must you develop all three in concert to both expand and successfully defend your empire, but any of the three may provide victory over your opponents:

Real Shit!

Haven't played WC3 yet. I want to. I've seen it played and it looks kinda sicc but I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe that it is chess-like.

most real time empire gaves are supervisorial i.e. they focus on keeping workers busy on a task while you manage technology and military.

I like those games but after you get good at them they become as lame as sports games. too redudant and predictable.

The more a game is focused on dynamic economics the more fun and challenging it is. . . .

WC3 is mad. I spent like a year in college addicted to that shit.

It has all the elements of any RTS, economics, technology, military, etc.

But its all broken down so its actually simple. At the same time, I'd call it deceptively simple, since there is actually a lot of depth and complexity to what you can do.

What gets crazy is when you get good and you start playing the people who are better at it...and they be doin like 4, 5 actions a second.

ya man, you have to build your base and allways be upgrading it to hget powerfull units, you get melee fighter to absorb damage while ranged stands behind them firing away. All this and you can have 3 heroes that are super powerfull and can pick up items and lvl up in experience to get more pwerfull spells and attack. You might have been mistaken as me talking about wc3 for world of warcraft. world of wc is waaaay diff. Its more of a first person adventure than strat.

WC3 is the shit, the story for the solo player game is a,mazing, but the battlnet onevsone is what makes it very chess like. Each player has a diff strat, and the strats meet in the battlefield!

Thanks folks,

They've been doing real good by me. They just need to change the shit on iTunes from "partial album" to full album. they on some weird shit with that.

as far as payment no complaint. the digi dist situation is the bullshit. slow and they fuck up your data i.e. that "partial" shit. other than that all good. I need a plug with some other instore distributors. I been looking at a couple and I haven't found anything that makes me wanna do business.
