so I'm hella confused. How come buffalo just challenged the spot of the ball when Julius Jones ran for a first down and they won the challenge, but the cowboys still got the first, so buffalo didn't lose their timeout......but last night the exact same shit happened, green bay challenged the spot of the ball against the bears, won the challenge and they moved the ball, but lost a timeout because the bears still got the first

Because it may have been in the incorrect spot and still had enough for the first down. Sometimes the ref placed the ball to short for the other team and the challenge backfires but they still "won" the challenge. Because it was in the incorrect spot.

GB challenged whether they got first down, not the spot, which was stupid. They should have challenged the spot of the ball. It's all in how you word.
