Cell phones and MP3s

Anyone know how to convert or cut down regular mp3s so that you can transfer them to your cell phone?

I want to use some mp3s and cut up parts of songs and transfer them through a USB cable. all i see is mainstream shit to download onto my phone.

Anyone know what kind of program to use?

you can use adobe audition...that gives you the most options as far as file size and shit...keep the ringtones at or under 48kbps for the best qual while keepin the file small...don't go no more than 64 though...and usually tones are limited to 30 sec...if you have trouble crackin adobe audition, you can try audacity...its a free program and it can cut down mp3s...
