CD Burning Help!!

on my old computer, i had a few albums that i copied to cd. so i can put them on my new computer. but once i got my new comp. set up and tried puttin my music on it...it wouldnt work...says something like "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." what the fuck does this mean?

i have a brand new dell....but i think it had somethin to do with my old computer and its cd burning software...all the mp3s work fine...but mp3s i had in one folder like albums or playlists did not work...windows media player wont play them...

When you copy music in Media player, Microsoft auttomaticly puts a copy protection on it if you didn't uncheck the box. Meaning... you have to burn all of the music from your old Comp to CD's, and then re-import it to your new comp.

^^thats what i did..i didnt burn them in .wav so i can play them in a cd player....they are in .mp3...shits pissing me off

so u only copied the files. u should of just burned them on cds then upload it 2 the ur new pc

try opening the cd drive thru my computer, copy the songs to a new folder, open it, see if they are there. fuck useing media player to listen to music, try winamp
