man I remember waiting to record the hits on kmel...

what 90's babys know about recording mac mall sick with it on cassette? that shit was #1 in the bay for weeks. I feel kinda bad for rap fans now they have no idea the level rap was once at.

i dont think i could listen to a cassette tape now after getting used to just being able to skip to any song i want quickly with a cd

I was the last person i knew to make the switch from tapes to CD's. This happened in 2000. I held on to my tapes until about 2002 and finally had about 33% of my collection on CD. There are still tapes I had that I CAN NOT find on CD, thus forcing me to by a walkman and rip them to MP3 form.

My joy was when you found a bunch of old tapes you didnt listen 2 anymore, and you put tissues in the holes went to ya homeboys/cousins house, raided his/her stack and made new jams out of 'em. That's how I heard Big Mike's "Somethin Serious" , Biggie's "Ready To Die", RBL Posse's "Ruthless By Law", Ice Cube's "Kill At Will", Geto Boys' "We Can't Be Stopped" and Public Enemy's "Apocalypse 91'"

I actually did a project in a class where I found a place that produced tapes. I will find it and post it up. The whole logic behind cassette releases is a scarce goods concept. Your hardcore will want.

I remember taping so many mfkn songs off the radio, then taping other tapes, taping CDs to tapes, half-pushing the FF button so it sounded like chipmunks, recording over tapes I didn't like, and always making sure none of my cassettes came near any magnets.

India still sells almost all of their music exclusively in cassette tape format, because 1) most of the country is poor with outdated technology, and 2) Gulshan Kumar pioneered cassette tapes in that country.

who remembers getting free audio promo tapes from the mall or in the mail or from infomericals then putting masking tape on the corner to make it recordable lol!

i used to do that shit all the time.
