I just got new speakers for my car off of ebay and was wondering about an amp. First do I even need one? If I do how many watts do I need? I dont want anything hella fancy I just want to get a little more out of these speakers. The back ones are 400 Watt 6x9's and the front are 220 Watt 6.5's. Thanks.

The speakers i had before cracked so i took them back to circuit city and decided that i got rapede on the prices. So i got way better ones on ebay for a cheaper price. I just want to be able to turn my speakers up without cracking them or it sounding shitty.

ok follow me. if you wanna slap you need a 4 channel amp with about 100 watts per channel for inside speakers. the good guys can install this under your seat, set it up to push your speakers properly and you will have a quality sound inside you load.

but now comes the real shit. you need a rockford punch 2 chanel amp watts depends on your speakers and get you a box with some 12 inch jl audio speakers in it and have that installed and you will knock tremdo.

or you can just run your shit off your deck. 4x 50 watts is 4 chanel power enough for 4 speakers inside the car off the deck so you straight. the more amps and speakers you got, the more you knock.

good luck.

breathe.

But will my deck be able to get all it can out of the speakers because the front speakers are 220w and the back are 400w, or will it only get 50w out of each one?

Kinda got it backwards... your speakers dont power your deck. So to answer your question... your speakers will only pump out what your deck can if you dont got an amp.

What kind of speakers and deck do you got? Unless you still workin a factory deck... it's nothin. It will still sounds good with new speakers. But it sounds BETTER with an amp.

Plus... every ear is different... you gotta break in those speakers yourself and dont let other folks "test" your speakers for you. It took about a month till I got the sound I want from my speakers.

yeah defintely get an Amp. Also those ratings on your speakers and deck are maximum watts, they arent pumping that out all the time. Check out what your decks RMS is.

There isn't a deck in the world that can properly push subs. 50x4 really means nothin....you are not gettin ANYWHERE near 50 watts per channel from a deck.

What about a box?

Might as well start lookin for an amp. I dont know all that much but I know you are definatley gonna need one if you have anything bigger than 6x9's.

if yer just runnin 6x9's etc I wouldn't worry about an extra amp....I've had a couple cars in the past where I was just runnin x9's with the amp in the deck and it sounded just fine
That's real bad advice. An amp is always better than no amp. Not only is the SQ crap with no amp, but no amp causes most people to blow their speakers.

You mean the over-rated, over-priced shit. There's better out there. Just my opinion though.....

MKB...

Get an amp. Sounds like you want your music on the louder side. If you turn your radio up too much without an amp you risk blowing your speakers and wasting your money.
