this is a WWTSD? moment....last week i was ina accident i was in my lane, and as soon as it breaks into another lane for left turn only I went into it and this car merged in without looking and hit me sent me into oncoming traffic and i was gonna hit head on with another car but he swerved and i still hit the rear side of the car like by the rear wheel. Cops were called (LAPD) figures they wouldnt show, something about there were no injuries. So i got a call from my insurance because they wanna check my cars damages and get a recorded statement from me.. they said the guy I hit has lawyered up and when i talked to him last week he said he was cool but his back hurts a little bit.. the guy that hit me was trying to say that i went around him or some shit....

should I lawyer up since the guy i hit did? or just blame it all on the guy who hit my car and made me swerve into the oncoming traffic?

If he's lawyered up I think you should be or at least let one review your case. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

my insurance is shit, they told me i got real limited insurance.. its liability and will repair the damages of the other vehicle if i was at fault.. told me to call the other driver that hit me's insurance and give them my statement.. found a good lawyer gonna see what she thinks about my case.. thing is accident happened in LA and im in The Bay while there's no school for the next month or so..

sounds like someone needed to get police/chp report at the scene...without that its your word against his...

im still confused though...you were in your lane, another guy came into, hit you and you went into oncoming traffic missed a head on but hit someone on the rear of the car?...so there were 3 cars involved?

you were hit and then you hit someone else

either way you needed that police report...and dont admit to shit to anyones insurance until your insurance does some investigations and dont go talking to the other parties involved...

if you have insurance...your insurance will pay claims for damages/injuries....you shouldnt need a lawyer unless dude tries to pull some bullshit and sue you personally for injuries

but it sounds like dude got that "sue bug" thinking he gonna get rich quick and now he hurts....if he wasnt carted off in an ambulance at the scene he'll be lucky to get 500 from your insurance...save your money...let your insurance fight for you...thats why you pay them monthly

what happened was theres 2 lanes i was on the left lane.. then another lane opens up for left turn only.. I got a little map real quick.. red car is me, white car is the car that hit me, and gray car is the one i ended up hitting after the collision sent me into oncoming traffic, black dots are where the damage was on the cars.



I took pics with my actual camera everyone else used their cellphones.. the insurance company told me to call the guy's insurance who hit me and give them my statement im skeptical tho.. a lot of stuff im reading says to not talk to the other insurance companies because they can twist shit around on me.

thats a nice diagram...from there, it looks like the white car came over into your lane...you were probably in his blind spot...he hit you pushing you over into the oncoming lane hitting the grey car as he passed or stopped....

which car went for the lawyer?

to me it looks like you were in a turning lane and not at fault

you can talk to the other parties insurance to open a claim against the guy that hit you...but keep it short...dont admit any kind of guilt...always say you had your seat belt on...you werent on your phone...you werent playing with the radio..make sure you know the speed limits .... basically point the finger at the dude that came over on you...even say that you hit your horn and the dude just came over and knocking you into the next lane...tell them you could have died!

but never admit any guilt especially when dealing with someone elses insurance....they are fucking animals especially if its a quality insurer....

its not really necessary to talk to them..you can do everything through your insurance, they will fix your shit and than go after the other party for reimbursement...downside to that is your insurance rates will go up...if you deal with the other parties insurance...file a claim , they will want to see your car and take a statement from you about the accident...dont admit guilt of any kind...blame is the game....they will ask you same shit twice just to try and confuse you or catching you up in a lie...so write exactly what happened down prior that way you have a cheat sheet to fall back on....

get a lawyer if someone died...or you were drunk lol

there has to be someone that comes out to take a report....maybe not a cop...a public safety officer or some shit

you can also go down to the police station or chp and make one yourself

exactly, he came into my lane.. hit me i ended up about to hit head on with the gray car, he swerved to avoid me but i still ended up hitting his quarter panel. He said his car was totalled, and it was towed from the scene. Gray car went for a lawyer.. i called him same day of the accident later on because there was 2 witnesses.. one in my favor and one that didnt really see shit, just that I "swerved into his lane and hit him" my insurance doesnt seem to give two shits lol.. they said basically they were only liable to pay for the car i hit.

they're sending a person to come check the car out like tomorrow.. i guess i will file a claim with state farm which is the insurance of the white car, he was also korean..... /no racist lol..

the dude getting the lawyer is part of the accident and wants to make sure he gets reimbursement for his vehicle and you never know if people have insurance or not so he got a lawyer..or possibly just said that to intimidate you...either way dont talk to him, dont talk to anyone but insurance....

you need to go down and file a police report..it will make you look hella good if you file it and the only one with one....

another question when you were hit did it push you into the oncoming lane? or did you swerve into the lane to try and avoid the hit?
