After a two year absence, Cam'Ron finally returns with Purple Haze, the follow up to his platinum Roc-A-Fella debut, Come Home With Me.
Initially scheduled to drop in June, Killa Cam's latest has now been pushed to a July release. The set's single, "Get Em Girls" established a strong buzz earlier this spring and "Lord You Know" featuring Jaheim has been picking up steam.
"I've been working on this for about 7 - 8 months. I always grow every album. I'm around nice artists like Juelz, Jim Jones, J.R. Writer and a whole bunch of new people and it keeps me on my toes," Cam said in a statement. "It's like tough love and that's why every album I do is better than the last one."
Since last offering a solo LP, Cam has been plugging The Diplomats with the crew's Diplomatic Immunity and Juelz Santana's From Me To You. The squad has also been strong on the mixtape circuit, dropping verses alongside Kay Slay among others.
Cam'Ron also plans to drop a short film in conjunction with Purple Haze.
"I want you to have the visual, even if you don't see the movie," Cam offered. "Visualize it just by listening. It's like a verbal movie or even a book."
Cam'Ron's Purle Haze featuring guest appearances from Kanye West, Lil Flip, Twista and Jaheim hits stores on July 20.
