You cant carry a weapon in Cali.

You can buy one and drive around with it prominently displayed in your car.

But you cant walk around with it. We dont have concealed weapon permits.

you can get your CCW, and be able to carry it concealed. you gotta go through some shit to get one of those though. you have to take a class, and also be able to prove why society would benefit from you carrying a concealed weapon (i believe). search google for obtaining your CCW in california...other than that, one handgun a month, you gotta pass a test (which is easy as fuck), and then there's the cooling off period.

imma find some gun stores and talk to people there

I was lookin at a chart and it says athletes who can carry concealed guns only one on the chart can carry one in cali.

i been studying administration of justice and that is my fall back major. maybe i can use that as a reason to be able to carry one but i doubt that.

maybe city hall or police department will have the answers. or some these websites i seen.

I went to some online stores maybe some the sites are over priced but guns i like are expensive.

would be cheaper to get a shotgun then a glock 9

obviously it depends on what shotgun, but for the most part, yeah you could get a cool 12 guage for quite a bit cheaper than a glock.

Taking into consideration you are a US citizen and have a clean background...

You take an easy test, pass, wait, purchase/register the firearm, wait, and there you go. Each additional firearm you just purchase and wait agian (10 days).

If you are driving the firearm has to be in the front and the shells and clips (shells cannot be in the clip) have to be in the back. Or vice versa. You have to be on your way to or from a shooting range or a hunting ground.

CCW's are a little more work, but they are not impossible like everyone says. It all comes down to the way you present yourself to the sheriff and the reason you give of why you need to carry one. You have to take a class, give references that back up your good image, and then have a meeting with a sheriff in your county. There is a little more to the CCW (can only be reigstered for 3 firearms at a time, can appeal if you get denied, etc). Just look it up.

Your course of study would not be legitimate reason. Maybe if you were an attorney and you were worried about the people you are persecuting, but just studying a subject doesn't count. Don't use the money excuse either (I carry a lot of money). They will just tell you to hire a body gaurd.

Yes, a shotgun in general is cheaper than a glock, in general.

Keep in mind that you cannot carry it anywhere you want. Any drug free zone (school campuses, federal buildings, etc.) are off limits. Any place where where they sell alcohol and that alcohol is being consumed on-site are off limits as well (bars, clubs, etc.). There is a long list of places of where you cannot carry a firearm even with your CCW.
