I support good music. Period. I'm not the type of person to buy a cd just because it's from the Northwest or whatever, if it's wack I don't want it, regardless of who the artist is, even if he/she is my friend. So I support good music only, fortunately the Northwest has a lot of talent and a lot of good music.

Even beyond that, as a fan of good northwest music, If I'm really feeling an artist or group, I will get it around my circle or my network, straight up, if I purchase a cd and it's solid, I'll play the cd around town and really get people asking questions on who it is and where it's from. Because theres a certain level of pride in someone representing the same region, and doing it well, for everyone, and I want others to hear it. It's like yeah we are here, we just need more unity and exposure.

... I've come to support those (in the NW or elsewhere) that are supporting "themselves"... meaning..

I have grown MORE THAN tired of offering up services and trying to hook artists up in the NorthWest that arent doin' a damn thang on their own.. I have been in the streets of Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Boise, SLC, etc.. and bought CD's off the artists out there grindin'.. yeah, some of them have been bad (some REAL bad.. lol..) but I repect the grind, the hustle... but I've had soooo many people hit me up for help and a lot of the time I've done it because I can and because this is where I'm from.. but what did they do with that "connect"..? with that help..? ... not a damn thing.. most times there isnt even a "thank you" involved.. its frustrating to me that I get more love, more help and make more money when I work with my folks in the Bay or outside the NW area..

Unless youre payin' me... unless youre makin' your own noise and really doin' it....? ..I'm not the one to get at.

Thats the truth sonny. It shouldnt make you feel negative. That is just the way it is. When more artists get the chance to work out of town then we will generate a bigger buzz out here. basically all we are trying to do now is just sell CDs to the people next door when we need to take our product out of our region. It would be different if we had more profesionals supporting the things we dobut we dont so what we lack, we also have to pick up the slack.

We need people who have these connections to labels who have a budget and we need these people to start weeding through the talent pool and start shopping some of the product around to these people when they go out of town (I.E. Managers) Instead of just trying to get all the money for themselves.

I hope this is not outta the subject, but this is how im feelin::
whats so funny is. i went to an a&r connection so called "I WILL SIGN YOU UP" type of eventon Oct 8 to be exact @ the premier. This is the 2nd time they came here. first time, i knew they was not tryin to sign cats up@ a hotel. 2nd, almost all artist in the NW whose been putting their grind on , on the streets. you know who you are! Yall didnt heard about it, no invitations. What so sad was "I invited myself to go check it out." The only person i respectfully seen was Neema there. But I dont even think he had an invitation. I mean this whole place was shoulder to shoulder jam pack at the premier. All these unheard artist made the NW look bad. I mean dam, all these record labels was there... they was in front of these artist faces, check'm them out. but the whole time, i never heard none of these artist in my life...at least, put on 151, Crytical, Skunt, Loco, Neema, Tru-Id, Boom Bap, Ol Dominion, Coolnutz, E-Dawg, Young Hav Not, Byrdie, Livio, Blu Scholars & it goes on.

I rather see these names represent the NW. Than sum unknown cats performing his 3rd show.

so, i found out that each artist or group(20 groups). who was on the bill now. Had to sell 50, i mean 50 tickets=$20 a piece = to $1000. To get on stage to rock their 3 songs. Some of them perform 6 songs. Thats embarassing. These a&r made like 20 stacks.

reality, a&r's is not gonna sign artist up by watching artists perform in front of 50 sold tickets to your friends and family. Every group that perform. It was jus so obvious that they was rockin in front of there family.

at the end of the day, it makes my&others job even harder. fo real!. Sonny Bonoho(HUMBLY) name is known because of the fliers that neema and myself and other promoters that i was involve with...more that 500,000 fliers wit my name on it.

so, for this opportunity that folks had at the premier spoiled it for the NW.

I had great time at the bar pouring real heavily and went home discourage.

I support the music that I think is good. If I'm not feelin it then I'm not. I might buy somethin to see if I like it but most of the time if I don't know who they are I'm not gonna buy it. I know that if I get somethin done by RHS, 151, BD, Syko, etc it's gonna be good. But I bought a cd at a show and I can't even remember the name of the group, but it was NOT tight, AT ALL. It was a total waste of $10. While it might have helped them out a tiny tiny bit, I wasted half a dub on a cd that I will probably never listen to. There's a lot of artists in Seattle that aren't tight. It's their hobby and it's just for fun, it's not serious to them. I appreciate music more when the artist is serious about their shit, cause it shows they care at some sort of level what kind of product they put out, whether it be because it represents them or because they want people to be able to listen to some really good music.

I think most of these folks don't support it like they say they do... Or at least pull the same shit all these haters in the NW do. They aint open to any new names, I had a song up for download for about half a week and got one reply so far.. SO PEEP IT. http://s22.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=...XF1K7LSY0ITXXT0

And yeah, I support the shit if it's hot and if the artist is a cool cat. no need to support a dickhead. as for the NW as a whole, I rep it to the fullest
