Consistency, if I keep seeing a name or hear about somebody thats comin tight all the time on different shit, if I see they shit in the store I'll get it feel me...
true true, no one really touched on this: PRODUCTION is the key. if someone hear's a slammin ass beat or something they could bob their head to at the club or something, they might buy it. do as many shows as possible. do whatever u can do get on the radio. get features that are popular around here.

.....oh yeah and I thought the question was what makes you wanna check out a "new" artist. If it's a new artist, you haven't heard any of the music first or anything, you are in the music store and you see the cd on the shelf. What makes you buy it ?

for real blood, people dont buy new artists. its only been a couple of new artists worth a damn recently and I haven't heard shit from them since. people dont buy new shit because its not on the radio, its weak, and even if its cool.... it just out of mind.out of sight out of mind. its nothin personal.

i remember the game insane cats were being hyped up on here for a while. Then it was was Playa rae, then it was awax, its been a lot of new cats on here gettin love. but in terms of buyin people shit, mann nniggas just dont buy shit. They not buyin e-40 shit either. They not buyin Yuk. Niggas bootleg, dub, or just hear it inthe wind. Everybody onhere act like they buy people shit - they dont. Dont think people on sicness buy shit, we just like everybody else. The most you can hope for is that people hear it and spread the word. Dont make the mistake of some of these new cats make and just be fallin off so quick.

Bootleggin undergound shit is becoming a huge thing. I think alot of label guys are to quick to send out promo copies. Thats where most of these "rippers" get 90% of their supply...

If I hear a tight track from a new artist thats enough to buy my vote. I think thats the same with 90% of the other cats on this forum...
?? Ok, let me put it like this. I remember seeign a post about papertrail and checked it out. I copped it. snatched it up. everybody in the deep east was bumpin it. but its like most everything else in rap, nobody really finna actually buy shit like that. i heard a lot of good reports on sicness everybody doin a review was sayin how tightit was, but i haven't heard shit from them cats since. that tells me two or three things

1) they didnt sell shit
2) niggas dont really buiy shit
3) niggas be fallin off so quick its hard to even get to know these new artists.

its not usual that I even give a fuck about some new artist but then when I do, they be fallin off so quick. Damn, how bout a follow up release or anything. dude who used to always post on here pubbin em vanished. truth of it is, that click was WAY tighter than anything i heard in a while. Ice cold heat. was the CD. i got a cdr later from him and so i know they got more newer shit, but my point is that if these cats whose music is bumpin like a mufucka can fall off so quick then i dont see how other new artists expect to just come in and blow up without radio play. its a reason these groups be fallin off, they probably dont sell and go belly up broke.

if you dont believe me, how many poeple actually went to a store and bought that ice cold heat cd from papertrail. unless i'm wrong, I bet most people dont even know about it. so my point is it doesn't always matter how good your music is. them niggas did somethin wrong becuase if that music didn't sell... then that tells me that this rap game is juyst bootleggin and burning.

what else... some of this new shit is just weak as a mufucka and you wonder why it aint sellin. come on cousin.

if its any new artist who got the kind of heat that will make us run out and spend money.... post it

i swear to god every time i sit down and blaze a blunt and listen to a beat over and over again and wright to it its fuckin thepory for me. Im just being real here. I must have saved at least 6k in theropy money cause i wright insteed. everything in my songs is eighter a real event that happened such as DESOLANT or just raw emoton. if im pissed i wright crazy ass sick tracks. when i see a fuckin clever insurance commercial that has family love in it and makes me all fuckin depresed i wright deep shit. its a relese. i guess thats why to me i dont really give a fuck what people think or if i ever make money off it. Im being 100% honest i have no fuckin thoughts of makeing a liveing off rap. Its just to vent. So maybe thats why i always get good feedback.

I'm gonna check your shit out Spitz but that 6K you saved in therapy money, some should have went to tell you that wright is spelled w-r-i-t-e. Just kidding Dogg.

It is true though rap to me is therapy also and it doesn't get enough credit for taking some of the biggest drug dealers off the streets and into the booth.

woah, woah, woah...who said anything about vanishing. Just cuz I haven't been on siccness lately doesn't mean I vanished. Damn.... look, we got another album ready to drop, but it's only been a few months... what 4 months since ice cold heat dropped. The people who heard that album know its clean. The second one is better. MUCH better. Maybe I should post some new shit up for you to hear. God-DAMN... gone for a minute and you sayin we fell off and vanished.

Thank you for the compliment on the music. I don't know how many people actually have the CD, but those who do will spread te word. We didn't do it perfectly or else we'd be platinum. We are learning. But the music is 97 octane, feel me.

Just that quick, huh.... man, relax. We haven't gone anywhere. I'll slap up some new slump from the upcoming album. But give this first one time to work and settle in.
