The same cats feature on every album, it's like it dont matter who's hot or who's comin up. Every album seems to feature the same handful of like 10 rappers and thats it. Then you have topics on who's album yall waitin on? and the same 10 rappers names come up knowin that they will never do anything innovative just play it safe with the same routine. I dunno I just think the shit is gettin old anyone else feel that way? By know means take this as a HATING topic... just tellin the facts.

Sometimes that routine works very well though and if it ain't broke, why fix it??

There are albums that I know will be solid because they feature the same individuals and because I know those combinations work, I make sure to buy the album.

But on the other hand there are alot of the same features that become boring and don't work as well, so I just don't buy those, simple as that.

If it aint broke? Pushin around 2,000 units isnt just broke its fuckin beat into the ground and stomped on 50 times. Them cats only have the ability to take themselves and this area so far. Refusing to grow change with the times expand your flow branch out and experiment and try new shit is OLD and TIRED.

Mr Chronic: LMAO really? The only album i've ever had features on was..hmm the mixtape. And the reason I roll with these particular artists is because why would I pay alot of the cats the fans jock when lyrically they aint bringin nuttin new to the table and arent making me step up my game. The new mixtape has alot of different artists, and to be honest im willing to work with anyone but fuck payin some washed up cat to flow on your shit when they cant even out rap you.

^^^^@ Cane~It aint always about that folks! U ever think it might be a goal of someones to work with certain artists? It could be a artist or group that that one idividual has followed through out they process of tryin to make it. U cant knock or hate on what peeps are doin. Who knows, u might just be in that same spot one day not even realizin... 1one1

Haha nah man i stay lookin for the next hungry cat spittin hard...gettin vets on every project is useless especially in this area MOST of the vets just see a dollar and come with some recycled shit u wont even know about till your album drops same time as so an so's album and THE SAME VERSE is magically there. What im saying is every album features like 10 artists and when you see cats making a movement, people dont reach out and make connecs.. its sad. Out of all the up n coming artists that are on this board almost none hit me about bein on the next mixtape but a couple well known cats on this board did to get on it...those 2 cats are bout it! Im just tired of cats "doing what they do" when what they do is trash feel me? Why aint more artists entered in this bart challenge shit? Cap? or are you up in there... i just wanna let the music speak for once and hope people take notice

Well they probably play it safe cuz safe will help them sell... If they have the vets on there it will get attention, especially if it's a new artist... If you have a new artist with unknown features, no radio, no video, then people aren't gonna check for it as much.

Not to mention a lot of people want the same artists they listen to... A lot of people I see featured over and over are the same people I listen to regularly... Maybe these artists just wanna work with people who's shit they bump all the time...?

With all the new artists coming out of the Bay it's too easy to write them all off without listening to em... So it's gonna be that much harder for the new artists to come up. Just gotta keep it in everyone's face til they take notice.

Cane you ablsolutely right about the buddy system. More artists need to colaberate on shit to keep the fans and the artists themselves happy. I wish more artists felt the same about that.

to me, i dont see anything wrong with it, like tha one foo said, tha cd will get more attention, if you see one cd with big name features and another 1 next to it with someone no 1 even knows, they prolly gone swoop tha one they know better, i know would give a cd a listen that had tight features rather than some no namer that i never heard
