yeah it was. I remember wantin Burton to KO that MF! He rocked him a few times and no one really gave him credit. he ROCKED Ward a few times that no one seemed to catch but he didnt have enough to tip the scales. Manny never had a KO punch but goddamnit if he only had about 10 more lbs of force behind those punches he coulda been a GREAT rival 4 PBF!!

And yeah I thought it was a draw atleast. I was on Burtons team all the way and it broke my heart when he took that knee. I wanted him to go on and get that good pay day against Gatti.

I wasn't really pulling for either guy but just had that feeling it'd been a damn good fight, I've been a fan of them both since they both fought Antonio Diaz so I was hard pressed for a favorite. You're right about the scorecards though, if I remember correctly they didn't really represent what went on in the ring.

awesome fight. Have this on DVD. The first time I watched it I didn't keep score, so it was nearly impossible to tell who won. After re-watching it a few times and keeping score, I had Augustus winning every time.

Just look at the numbers - Augusts had a much higher percentage of landed punches, and for the most part he landed the nicer, cleaner shots. Ward threw more punches, but he really didn't land for shit, Augustus was landing clean counter shots the entire fight and making ward miss.

Good fight though and close enough that you cant really be upset with the decision, one of my personal favorites.
