I gotta give props to Stevens, he hung in there pretty well and landed some good shots himself. The fact the fight went as long as it did says it all. You cant stop the terminator though, he doesn't even budge much when getting hit by a power shot. Martinez will never fight him lol, hes gonna retire

Lol. Was this performance by GGG suppose to be impressive. GGG might get out boxed easy by old ass hurt Martinez and Quillin will put hands on him. GGG is flatfooted and has no defense. Plus he can't hit a moving target. Overhyped and overrated until he actually beats someone other then a Euro bum. Plus don't bring this guy name up about fighting the P4P king until he beats someone of note. I see why Canelo was beating his ass in sparring flat footed as hell.

Bhop should drop to 160 and fight him but I did see GGG lacking at times. He cut the ring off pretty good but he still got hit with some shots he should have seen coming. He was flat footef at times but you don't need that much movement when you fight a shorter fighter who wants to fight against the ropes.

160?? They can actually fight at 168 and meet in the middle. GGG can easily make 168 no problem. I think thats where he should be fighting at anyway. Got Em!!

So GGG isn't good because he was hit in his fight, yet Broner is invincible even though he got hit a million times by Malignaggi? GGG does what he has to do and knocks fools out. Plain and simple. He's a smart fighter.

All anyone has to do is look at what GGG did to Rosado vs what Quillin did to Rosado and there goes your winner as well. Stevens trained hard as fuck for this fight and did some crazy inside work to get those big punches in, yet it didn't really phase GGG like that. Quillin would easily back away from GGG. Plus GGG throws so many punches and can cut the ring very well, he will retire Martinez. If Martinez does duck GGG tho, then I do see a ppv fight with GGG and Chavez Jr occurring after Chavez vs Vera 2

Love watching GGG...especially 4 times a year.

Great fighter.
Yep. He's already set to fight February 1st in Monte Carlo. The quality of opponent will depend on if HBO picks up the card. I'm guessing they won't so maybe GGG vs a Sergio Mora type opponent which will set up a Martin Murray fight a couple months later. Ricky Hatton said he'll have Murray fight GGG after he beats Garth Woods in Australia so makes sense. Plus a lot of people thought Murray beat Sergio Martinez so that would set up that huge fight well if GGG runs through him.

Gotta give GGG credit for even fighting Stevens since it was a high risk.low reward fight. Stevens was the only guy who called out GGG though.

Magomed Abdusalamov is in Self-Induced Coma

By Rick Reeno

Russian puncher Magomed Abdusalamov took a turn for the worse earlier this morning. On Saturday night, Magomed (18-1, 18KOs) suffered numerous injuries during his ten round decision loss to Cuba's Mike Perez (20-0, 12KOs) at the Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden. There were plenty of power punches thrown and landed by both fighters in their HBO televised showcase, but Perez racked up the points to win on scores of 97-92, 95-94 and 97-92.

Earlier today, BoxingScene.com reported that*during the fight*Magomed broke his left hand, broke his nose*and he was taken to a local hospital*where a small blood clot was discovered on the brain.*

Late last night, Magomed's manager, Boris Grinberg, told BoxingScene the fighter was doing fine after doctors tended to his injuires. But a few hours later the boxer began to complain of headaches and was feeling ill. Doctors at Roosevelt Hospital placed him an self-induced coma to reduce the*possibility of any serious complications stemming from the blood clot.*

Magomed's exact condiction won't be known until Monday. His promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, is on his way to Thailand for the WBC's convention and is unavailable for comment.

I guess in this case, loudmouth Max was a bit prophetic when he wondered aloud if Mago's corner should stop the fight, because he was taking a pretty good beating and his work rate was somewhat slowing.

I think there aren't enough fights stopped. I've always dogged Buddy McGirt for stopping too many fights, but I think there is way too much hate for a corner/ref stopping a fight. At the end of the day, gotta go with your gut. I think too many guys are given way too many chances when they are clearly out of the fight. VERY few guys win with a late knockout when they were losing the whole fight and being hammered all night. Alvarado needed to stop. He was in the type of fight that he could've had the same fate. Victor Ortiz, for all his pussyness probably would've ended up there too if he didn't quit against Maidana and tried to go all 12 rounds that night. He was eating some very hard shots. The thudding shots stay with you much, much longer. Ask Tim Bradley.

No need to fight at 168 and meet in the middle. Hopkins was the one talking about getting down to 160 so fuck it. Get down in weight and fight GGG. It's not like he's a stranger to the division, he ruled it for over ten years so fuck it.

And that first fight should NOT have gone the distance. Abdusalamov came back to the corner asking if his nose was broke and they still let him go. Then his face starts swelling up and they still let him go. I don't want anything to happen to him but if it does his blood is on his corners hands. If he pulls through, and I hope he does, I think he should hang em up.

Yet you said this about Cotto in his last fight against a guy who is basically a washed up bum:
Cotto beat the shit out of dude. Great body work.
Come on man. Stevens was a threat to GGG. Rodriguez was no threat to Cotto and shouldn't even be boxing.

Thats what i was kinda thinking, he was just asking weird questions which, at times, i thought couldve been due to being translated, but just seemed weird to be asking how swolen your face is instead of listening to your corners advice for the next rd.

He said he would go down to 160 to fight Floyd. Why would he need to go all the way down to 160 to fight GGG when GGG can easily make 168 in his sleep. makes no sense. That would be a perfect fight at 168 and no big advantages. Got Em!!
