Come on man, are you honestly saying that Garcia who's been in the ring with Khan, Matthysse and the guy that beat Provodnikov himself is running scared from the division because of Ruslan Provodnikov? Seriously?

It's one thing to be a fan of someone, but come on man.

I think 2 of the judges only could see out of 1 eye also. Algeria would have had to win 9 rounds to win I believe. Stupid fucken idiots. lol @ Algieri landing 177 power punches, didnt know love taps counted

I agree with the decision. And I noticed a ton of fighters on twitter agree too, Cunningham, Crawford, Kendell Holt, Ishe Smith, K9, Rosado, and others. Delvin Rodriguez is the only guy so far I saw say Ruslan won.

It's because he won. Rounds shouldn't be scored like Weisfeld was scoring because you feel the other guys is hitting harder unless those shots are visibly shaking the other guy. Algieri started taking the punches well and was boxing well. FYI, 114-112 = 116-112 minus 2, which is 8 rounds to 4.

Ruslan basically said at the end of the fight that he wants a guy that's going to stand and there let him do what he wants. Someone should tell him that's not how it works. He has to make it happen if he wants that kind of fight, or ended dude in the 1st when he had him badly hurt.

I had it 116 to 110 for Ruslan. I told my nephew that he shouldn't be surprised if it was a split. Then when the judges were taking long I told him to watch out.

Bam. New champion. A rematch should be ordered.

Ruslan has some problems and one of his major problems is that he wants to fight certain type of fighters. Fighters that just come forward or want to slug it out. The problem is, the judges see you knock a guy down, see you let off the gas, sees him countering you, stops you from going to the body, doesn't do a lot of holding and the end result is you get your belt snatched. The second problem is the left hook. Ok, it is your big weapon but it also works against you because in the 6th on out he started telegraphing it with only one fuckin eye. So yeah I think Ruslan won, but he has some things he needs to work on when it comes to taller boxers.

I can see why the judges scored it the way they did.

The reason Rusian got so outworked is cuz dude is 4 inches taller. Rusian has improved since his 1st loss. I dont buy the fact that anyone can outbox him like this if they have the skills, he will stop most fighters that dont have such a reach advantage.

I saw Ruslan getting out worked and out boxed in almost every round to be honest. He'd land a nice shot here and there but Algieri would tag him with a few shots head AND body and slip out. Ruslan was head hunting and missing while eating jabs and counters.
The reason why I scored it for him is because he had the two knockdowns and I felt he landed more effective shots. But then when you look at it again, Algieri would tag him and slip out. When he would do this Ruslan would try to block him from moving or would try to throw the left (which missed a lot.) So yeah, I gave it to him because of the knockdowns and it just seemed like his punches were more effective but I can see why he lost, and why the judges gave it to him. No problem from me with this one.

Also, even if Algieri didn't get the win, but had still lasted 12 rounds, his stock would have risen. Not many people expected him to last as long as he did so props to Algieri.
