Yeah, I'm sure Golovkin has gained some Mexican fans there is no question, but that don't mean he has all of Mexico behind him! He's never had a PPV before. He's not going from no PPVs to PPV record holder in one fight lol. Everyone knows who Mayweather and Pacquiao are, people who don't know ANYTHING about boxing know these names. Golovkin? Nah bruh.

2-0-Sixx @2-0-Sixx So when GGG fought Rubio, you think that Mexican audience that sold out the show were rooting for Rubio? It was obvious he captured the Mexican audience before the fight and they went for him. Same with Manny this past weekend. But you guys wouldn't know since you guys ain't out here in the South. It's a totally different atmosphere, especially when it comes to boxing.
manny got the messicans behind him cuz most hate floyd, thats a factor in why canelo was even involved in the 3rd highest grossing fight, floyd has cultivated his heel role against the messican fanbase and they tune in hoping he loses.

Shit I missed it. I saw the Irish prospect though funny I almost put him on my list but couldn't remember his name.
The way he looked tonight against a guy that was talking about retiring he shouldn't be on your list. Bad night for TR guys.

Tapia was weight drained and just looked terrible. Soro was rolled a lot of his punches and let Tapia flurry at him. That one left hook when Tapia was hurt ad Soro threw his entire body at him and missed was great.

Hopkins on Pacquiao: Weak Excuse, Take Loss Like a Man

Former champion and partner in Golden Boy Promotions, Bernard Hopkins, has no sympathy with Manny Pacquiao's reasons for underperforming against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao entered the contest with a pre-existing right shoulder injury. He claims he further aggravated the injury during the fourth round of action. The injury was first revealed during the post-fight press conference after the fight. Pacquiao has now had surgery for the injury and likely won't return until the end of the year or early 2016.

Many fans are upset, because Pacquiao suffered the injury in early April and kept it under wraps until after the fight was over. Several lawsuits have been filed by consumers who feel deceived.

Hopkins says Pacquiao could have covered himself a bit, by revealed the injury to the Nevada State Athletic Commission during the official weighin. Pacquiao filled out the NSAC's pre-fight medical questionnaire and checked 'No' in the section where the document asked if there were any shoulder related issues.

"The fans were told something by Pacquiao.....something, at least to me, that wasn't respectful. Whether [the injury] happened or not, that's the part that's irrelevant. At the end of the day he had an opportunity to check that box [on the medical questionnaire provided by the NSAC], if you were ever injured or ever took any medication. They knew what the box is when they seen it," Hopkins told reporters in Houston.

"Obviously Pacquiao didn't check that box. At least you go on record, but he's not intelligent to figure that out and whoever is behind him is not intelligent, because at the end of the day you think the fans are not intelligent to say 'wait a minute, you're on Instagram and throwing a million punches [in videos], you're hitting the bag, you even hit Freddie Roach, you have All Access, HBO 24/7' and you mean to tell me all of a sudden you had an injury."

Hopkins feels Pacquiao should have just taken the loss and kept the injury to himself or revealed the injury much earlier and accepted the loss without excuses.

"That was a weak excuse [to use] to say you lost. Take your loss like a man and step up, because the embarrassment comes when you make lame excuses that could be true and could not be, don't have to be true and make people think they are not paying attention," Hopkins said.

"My thing is thing is this, I think it was a cheap way to go out and disrespectful not only to boxing but disrespectful to the fans, who had a chance for the ones who backed away from boxing to embrace it again, and now Golden Boy Promotions and any other promoter who think like us - we got to now clean up their sh*t by putting on the best shows, the best events and not let any of this stuff happen on our watch."

Marquez Still Holds Anger Over Mayweather Defeat

Former four division champion Juan Manuel Marquez still has a bad taste in his mouth when he reflects on his twelve round decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2009.

The fight was agreed upon to take place at a 144-pound catch-weight to entice Marquez, who at the time was a lightweight, to move up by two weight divisions to fight Mayweather.

Márquez weighed in at 142-pounds, but Mayweather weighed in at 146-pounds - two pounds beyond the limit. There was a financial penalty in the contract which gave Marquez $300,000 for each pound over the limit.

The fight was very one-sided. Marquez was too small and too slow. He was knocked down in the second round and dominated until the end.

Marquez returned to the lightweight division after the loss.

"It was upsetting to me to see how the situation were handled, everything in favor of Mayweather, everything against me. We knew at that time that our promoter, Golden Boy, was more of a promoter to Mayweather than they were to me, but we know that does not mean that he is not a great fighter," Marquez told ESPN Deportes.

"Yes all of the adversities were against me, including the weight. He came in at 146 and for me it [took away] an advantage because it would have been hard for him to make the [agreed] weight and I was coming up from lightweight. [Making the weight] would have made him feel diminished, but it did not happen this way. They supported him, and to this day the entire situation of 2009 still angers me."
