Of course GGG will fight Chavez at 168 but not Ward lol. Got Em!!
Oh so it's ok for Mayweather to always choose the biggest money fight out there no matter what but not for GGG? Besides, GGG says he wants to fight both. His #1 priority is Martinez, though, at 160 since his lifelong goal is to become MW champion.

Anyways, no one even knows what GGG wants next since he's mourning his father in Kazakhstan right now. Only Bob Arum has talked about GGG vs Chavez, although it now seems Arum is looking at another opponent for Chavez.

Why do yall keep comparing fighters that havnt proved shit or fought anyone to Floyd when it comes to making fights or anything else? Floyd has a few fights left on a huge deal and will choose the best opponents available for him to fight that will help bring in big doe at the same time. Obviously TR is out of that equation. Floyd has the right to fight who he wants to. GGG does not have that same privilege because he hasnt proven shit and is not a PPV King like Floyd. GGG should want to fight the best and make his name. Dont act like u want to stay at 160 when Ward's name is mentioned but when they bring up Chavez then its ok to go to 168 LMAO!!! Got Em!!

The difference should be pretty damn obvious - Chavez vs GGG = PPV (lots of money. Ward vs GGG = regular HBO. Besides like I mentioned, Ward can't even fight right now he's not an option. Martinez is also #1 for GGG. If he can't get that fight he'll fight Chavez.

A Ward vs GGG fight would be a way bigger fight than a Chavez one dude. you reaching with that one big time, it would also be a PPV cause more would be on the line. all it would need is good marketing for casuals to eat up, cause we all know real boxing fans will tune inn.

Are you actually being serious right now? Ward will never be on PPV unless it's against Chavez. That's the reality of the situation - guys like Chavez and Canelo will always be more popular than guys like Ward. It's not rocket science as to why either. Ward vs GGG would not be on PPV. The only guy at 168 that is a big enough draw to headline a PPV is Chavez.

Tarver Released From Jail: Credits Haymon For Help
*

By TMZ

Antonio Tarver has just been released from a Florida jail ... and tells TMZ Sports he plans to hit the gym tomorrow to restart his boxing career so he can pay back his $200,000 debt.

Tarver was locked up in FL on a warrant from Nevada -- stemming from allegations he never repaid the Wynn Las Vegas on a $200,000 gambling marker from a 2012 gambling binge.

But Wednesday evening, Tarver says famed boxing manager Al Haymon spotted him the cash to post bail -- and he was released from the Pinellas County Jail. We confirmed Tarver has been released.

When we spoke with Tarver, the 45-year-old insinuated that Haymon ALSO spotted him the cash to repay the entire $200k debt to Wynn.

"It was a debt that I had," Tarver admits ... "a hiccup in the road."

Tarver says he's hard up for cash -- and hasn't "made a dime in two years" -- but vows to repay his debt to Haymon with his fists.

"With Al, it's all about friendship first ... I'm gonna pay him back by becoming the next heavyweight champion."

Antonio -- who fought back in November (and won btw) -- says he plans to hit the boxing gym first thing Thursday morning.* Stay tuned ...

Schaefer: Khan-Broner - Not Now, Maybe in The Future
Click Here To Email Printable version Search BoxingScene Database*

By Rick Reeno

For the last few days, former champion Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs)*and Adrien Broner (27-1, 22KOs) have been trading words on the social networks. The tension first began when Floyd Mayweather Jr. promised Amir a future fight, but only if Khan was able to defeat Broner.

While Mayweather would like to see Khan and Broner trade leather on his May 3rd undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Schaefer indicates the fight won't happen in the immediate future.

The biggest reason for delay, says Schaefer, is both fighters are going in totally different directions in terms of their planed career moves.

Broner, following last December's decision loss to Marcos Maidana, told Golden Boy that he plans drops to down in weight to pursue a title at 140-pounds. Last June, Broner jumped from 135 to 147 to capture the WBA welterweight title from Paulie Malignaggi.

Khan, inactive since last April's win over Julio Diaz, advised Golden Boy that he plans to campaign as a full-fledged welterweight and wants a significant fight or two in order to land a Mayweather shot (should Mayweather beat Maidana on May 3).

"I think it's a great fight. And you know that I am not a marinater, but I can only make fights when they can be made. Having said that, Adrien is thinking about moving down in weight to 140, which is something that I certainly support*and endorse. I think there are certainly some big fights for him at 140. He sort of*rushed through these divisions and in the process left out the 140-pound weight class," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.*

"I think sometimes you need time to grow into these divisions and grow into these fights. He could go to 140, have a couple of fights and then move back to 147. That's a blueprint and a career path that I would endorse."

"Obviously we know that Amir wants a Mayweather fight. For Amir, to move up to 147 is the right path for him. I think hanging around the 140-pound weight class doesn't make any sense for Amir and he's been fighting at 140 for a long time. I know that as he gained muscle mass and moved up in weight, he feels better than he ever has. Virgil [Hunter] has been telling me that as well. He feels strong, he feels good. For him to go back down to 140 right now, it would make no sense."

"It is one of those situations where we are going to eventually see that fight [between Broner and Khan]. You know Rick, and the fans know, that I am not a marinater. I get the fights done and I think I have a track record to prove that. In this particular case, I see Adrien doing a couple of fights at 140, and then Amir doing a couple of fights at 147 and then possibly facing Mayweather - depending on the outcome of the fight with Maidana. I see that scenario as being more likely than Amir and Adrien happening right now."

Gennady Golovkin, Chavez Jr. camps target a July 12 fight at Forum
By Lance Pugmire

Unbeaten middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin wants to accept former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.’s offer of a summer fight, with promoters for each boxer targeting a July 12 bout at the Forum in Inglewood.

Golovkin (29-0, 26 knockouts) pulled out of a late April title defense against Andy Lee to follow his country’s ritual of a 40-day mourning period following the late-February death of his father in Kazakhstan.
Chavez (48-1-1, 32 KOs) looked strong in winning a unanimous decision over Bryan Vera on Saturday night in San Antonio, with Golovkin’s Big Bear-based trainer Abel Sanchez and promoter Tom Loeffler in attendance.
Loeffler said he’d been in talks with Chavez promoter Bob Arum two weeks earlier and was impressed by Chavez’s performance.

Loeffler said a Chavez-Golovkin pay-per-view fight would be at Chavez’s current 168-pound super-middleweight limit.

Chavez said after the Saturday fight that he wanted Golovkin next.

“That’s the fight Gennady has always wanted,” Loeffler said. “We anticipate there’ll be no issues in July, taking the fight against Chavez.

“Gennady wants the biggest names, to win titles. It’s been frustrating getting champions to fight him. But Chavez is one of the top names in boxing, and there’s great interest in this fight.”
Loeffler said the popularity of Chavez –- son of legandary former four-division champion –- and Golovkin, whose ratings on HBO have sharply increased with each fight, make for a compelling matchup.

“Two well-known fighters with two very supportive fan bases,” Loeffler said.
Loeffler said he expects to confer again soon with Arum and says that Golovkin should be back in the Southland by the end of March.

“The Forum is a great choice, with Gennady training in Big Bear and Chavez having ties to the L.A. community,” Loeffler said. “From our side, a summertime fight against Chavez makes the most sense.”

And the funny thing is Lara is the mandatory to Floyd's belt! GGG has zero obligation to fight Ward or Chavez since they aren't in the same weight class.

This guy is a sex offender? Another reason to wish he would go away

Carlos Molina Arrested Five Days Before PPV Bout
Click Here To Email Printable version Search BoxingScene Database*

by David P. Greisman

Junior-middleweight titleholder Carlos Molina was arrested in Las Vegas earlier this week on a pair of years-old warrants out of the state of Wisconsin — and while the arrest came just five days before his bout with Jermell Charlo on this weekend’s pay-per-view, the fight is expected to still go on.

All of that is according to a report by Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports.

Molina is facing a warrant from January 2007 by one jurisdiction in Wisconsin with failing to register as a sex offender, and also has an open warrant from another jurisdiction dating back to 2005 on a charge of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, Iole reported.

Molina “has been placed on an immigration hold,” Iole reported. “Molina was born in Mexico but lives in the U.S.”

Molina had a hearing scheduled for this morning, according to the Clark County Detention Center’s online records. Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions told Iole that he expected Molina to be released and to still fight on Saturday’s undercard to Canelo Alvarez vs. Alfredo Angulo.

Wisconsin online court records note that Molina’s alleged sex registry violation, a felony, dates back to July 2006, with the warrant filed six months later. The disorderly conduct accusation dates back to May 2005, with the warrant issued in September 2005.

The 30-year-old won the IBF world title in September with a win over Ishe Smith. He is 22-5-2 with 6 knockouts.
