Does anyone here follow Deontay Wilder? He's an upcoming American heavyweight that is knocking out a bunch of cans right now, but he shows some potential. Star or Bust?
I've been watching him since he won bronze in the Olympis.

Tough to say. The man has serious power. He's athletic, fast and has some skills. And oh yeah he's huge and in shape, which is a big difference between the typical fat lards the US is pumping out (chris arreola, etc).

But like u say he hasn't been tested. Don't know how his chin will hold up (never seen him hit hard). I lean towards star though. Klitchko era is coming to an end and Wilder could come at the perfect time

Wilder v Haye who wins?
Definitely would favor Haye at the moment until Wilder proves he can beat a solid fighter. His best opponent is Audley Harrison which lasted half a round so he just doesn't have the experience yet.

Wilder is fighting Liakhovich next which isn't exactly a step up since he's coming off back to back losses again Helenius and Bryant Jennings. Jennings as of now is probably the best looking American heavyweight prospect at the moment. Wilder may have more potential in the long run but Jennings is much more proven at this stage.

its hilarious that when his biggest competition is in front of him he wanted to make accusations why didnt do it with any other fighter
Because he was a Top Rank fighter and he asked Mayweather to agree to $10 million every pound Mayweather was over 147lb, ring size, 50/50 split in money, and his glove brand of choice and Mayweather agreed to all of it. All Plus Mayweather beleived he was on that juice. So all Mayweather asked for was random testing that both guys would do. The Ghost, Ortiz, Cotto, Mosley, and Canelo has no problem with testing. Your question should be why did Manny refuse to make one of the biggest fights in history over a TEASPOON of blood.

Jones went 12 rounds against Denis Lebedev. Rampage has never boxed proffessionally before, whole different ball game...different punching techniques, footwork, etc. Even a shot Jones makes any life long mma fighter look stupid, even Silva. Just like any past it mma fighter would make a boxer look stupid in the cage. Dont matter how hard a guy hit when its a totally different sport.

Age, size, cardio, and Rampage's great chin might be what wins Rampage this fight. Plus Rampage won't have to drain himself by cutting 40lbs. for this fight either.

I understand RJJ has the technique, but how many bombs can he take from a 245lb. Rampage who won't get tired and can eat everything RJJ throws at him?

Reading a new article and the weight hasn't been announced yet. If they do this at Cruiserweight and Rampage has to cut under 200 then RJJ is gonna destroy him.

At Heavyweight though I think Rampage takes it.

Rampage has been traing with the Hatton's I think and he's been talking about boxing for a while now so who knows what will happen out of this. rampage is still a very skilled combat sport athlete so I would love to see this over any UFC fight.

very different sport from mma to boxing, yes, agree with you breh, but have you seen any of rampage's fights? They are all stand up, dude has been training boxing his whole life(in the ring with boxing gloves on) rjj has the speed I believe still and the technique, but one bomb from page end end anybody, why do u think everybody takes him down in his fights.

cardio has never been page's strong point in mma, but in the ring maybe this might be a plus factor

Of course I've seen Rampage fight. In mma his stanup is pretty good but in boxing standards it would be considered god awful. Jeff Lacy rematch would pose a bigger challenge to Jones because of the basic fundamentals. Watch how easy this fight will be for Jones. Rampage has one chance and that is to get lucky with a home run looping shot that jones somehow doesn't see coming.

Like which ones exactly? He's only been KOd by skilled top fighters - Tarver, Johnson, and Leb (who jones lasted damn near the full 12 rounds but got KOd final seconds of the round ). His KO1 loss to Green in Australia was fraudulent as hell.

Jones still at this age is beating decent to lower level guys. He just beat an undefeated prospect in Poland, he beat Jeff Lacy, Sheika, etc.

His cardio has always been awesome up until the last 2 fights when he didn't have good weight cuts. I think the only time I've ever seen him slow down in the 3rd was maybe the Rashad fight, but he didn't even have a camp for that fight.

Watch his fight with Dan Henderson, Rampage was a machine for the whole 25 minute fight.

I'm thinking without bad weight cuts and wrestlers grappling with him his cardio is gonna be beastly in boxing.
