Fighters in consideration to take on Wilder on January 16: Shannon Briggs, Artur Szpilka, Bermane Stiverne, and Amir Mansour.

A Briggs fight could only hurt Wilders reputation more at this point.

I would want Artur Szpilka or Mansour out of that group.

Wow. Parker offered fights to Briggs, Browne, Glazkov, Wach, Arreola and De Mori. All declined. Smh. and these weren't on short notice

Boxing Legion @BoxingLegion

It sounds as if it is extremely frustrating to negotiate with Wilder's camp. Main reason Glazkov turned down fight.

Team Wilder is proceeding with Amir Mansour as Jan. 16 foe...but that could change. #boxing

Erickson Lubin Wants The Best, Eyes Busy 2016

Posted by: Reynaldo Sanchez on 12/8/2015 .

By Reynaldo "Papi Chulo" Sanchez

Erickson Lubin 13-0-0 (10 KO's) is growing with each fight and remains humble, praising his fans for the success that he's achieved so far a pro.

Lubin has the required charisma of a future star and loves to spend time with fans of all ages. He never refuses a photo op or the opportunity to discuss the sport he loves with younger fans.

"I love children and especially young people who love boxing. I sign gloves; I take a picture with them because they are my fans and they make us athletes. I'm ready for the best at my weight. Little by little I'm getting better and increasing my level. My managers Garry Jonas and Henry Rivalta know what I like and go in search of the best fights," said Lubin

He adds. "I have the world's best adviser Al Haymon, I have the support of Luis De Cubas Jr. and Brad Owens. My coaches Herman Caicedo and Jason Galarza believe in me. I have all the ingredients to achieve my goals and unconditional support ... I will not disappoint. I will one day soon be the world champion, the champion of the people, and want to be remembered as a warrior inside the ring and outside the ring to be humble."

Lubin is part of the talent rich 154-pound division. In 2015, he had five fights, and his team expects him to continue with that pace in 2016. Gradually, Lubin has become the new sensation in his weight class, projected as a prospect with great potential.

"2016 is an important year for Lubin, said his manager Rivalta: "Al Haymon has great expectations for this young man. And in the same way he shines in amateur boxing, we hope he does it in professional boxing. There is no hurry and we're burning stages, to get to the really important fights in great shape."

Thats not true. I think it's unrealistic to SUGGEST Mayweather vs Golovkin as a realistic fight but if Floyd came back and said I want Golovkin for the middleweight belts, EVERYONE would be interested in watching that. Because yeah, Floyd has been so good fighting any current Welterweight and even junior middleweights doesn't really cut it. Golovkin at middleweight though? Interesting as fuck. Realistic? Fuck no.

It's crazy to me Haymon paid Jacobs and Quillin $1.5 million a piece with such horrible ratings. Now their self worth is artificially inflated and this is why you got Jacobs expecting like $3 million minimum for fighting Golovkin which is just absolutely unrealistic, and the same for Leo Santa Cruz when he was asking at least three million to fight Rigondeaux (his logic: I get a million bucks to fight bums therefore I should get at least three million to fight Rigondeaux who is much better than a bum!). Same applies here. Some of this overpaying fighters stuff isn't good for the sport if all they do is price themselves out of good fights. Happens all the time with Haymon guys.

I'm told Shannon Briggs was offered the fight with Wilder also but rejected it because his side was asking for around $2 million. #boxing
