buying beats, paying for features, the cost of pressing up the cds, paying for the artist to design the shit, promotion.......alot of work and money goes into a cd.....and once it drops sometimes ya gotta continue to drop cash to keep that shit rolling
And this is just a regional CD, so to speak.

Take an album like Jay-Z...well over 500,000 goes into an album like that.

regardless of that point it is the artist and street teams right to bash someones head over bootlegging

especially during and involving lower scale records sold

if you know bubba love is on the corner with your "bulletholes all in my ribcage" mixtape, youre probably gonna check him on that

cant really run up in little toddy's moms pad and beat down the harddrive in retaliation

i think major labels who put out promotional copies without the irritating voice shouldnt complain about bootlegging, as theyve given you the go-ahead.

ok NOW i gotta go eat lunch

A good portion of local shit I have has been handed down to me from the artist or someone working with the artist. The rest, I've paid for.

And, after looking at that inside cover:

Dave Moss, Cricet, Ecay Uno on production????

I want that shit for sure. Is that shit out locally, yet? I ain't trying to get it fed-ex'd to me if I live in the same city as the artist.

sounds like he's talking about people actually selling bootleg copies of his new album, compared to it being d/l which everyone knows is inevitable and will happen. just like eminem said, you aint shit if your music aint being bootlegged. so i guess in a since you can take it as a compliment, even tho it's a wack thing for these fucks to do. especially to local artist who rely on selling as many copies as they can to feed their families, etc....

either way, I aint heard this yet but Ive heard good things about it. so congrats on dropping another quality album and i'll make sure to peep it when it makes it my way.

Damn Mitch, you sound stressed. I feel you though, you put your heart and soul into your music, I can tell it means a lot to you. And then to have somebody steal it to make a profit off of, that's gotta hurt. Bootleggers are killing record sales. And when record sales are down, a label don't wanna put out your record. The "fans" that buy bootleg copies are just hurting themselves, because when the artist don't sell good, then it'll take longer for their next album to come out, and you won't hear as much from them. I mean damn, are people so broke they can't afford to spend $10 or $15 on an album, but can buy other senseless shit instead? People need to stop being so fuckin cheap. I buy all my shit, never bootlegged copies.

Thats asinine. Why would I support something that i MIGHT not like? THats fuckin ignorant. I dont support artists just becuase...I support GOOD MUSIC, nothing more--nothing less. With the quality (or lack-there-of) of rap music over the last decade or so, i NEVER buy a CD without hearing it first.

I can see where you're coming from. It's like, I'm not gonna buy a car without test driving it first. Or buying speakers without hearing how they sound. It's just a logical way of thinking. I'm not going to spend my cheese on shit I might not be satisfied with.

HOWEVER, I collect c.d.'s so I pretty much buy everything without having heard it. But Mitchy is one artist I KNOW FOR A FACT is gonna bring it every time. If it says MITCHY SLICK on the front, it's certified dope!!!!!!!!!!! From Trig to XXL mixtapes to USS, all his shit stays in rotation and has plenty of replay value. I don't never get sick of it. I picked up Messy Slick from Fam Bam and I'm sure it will be in rotation for a while. Keep grindin Mitch!!!!!
