so apparently theyve got this new hit song with akon thats all inspirational or whatever. so me and my friend started reminiscing about being kids listening to E1999, and were laughing hysterically at the shit bone would rap about. what was their agenda in making music full of devil worshipping and murder references? were they targeting suburban dark minded kids who fantasized about murder but had alota money to spend on cds and merchandise (like school shooting kids or goths or somthing)? or were they trying to get on that "horror core" hip hop gimmick that russell simmons tried to push? i didnt used to really listen to lyrics when i was young, so i never thought about till now, but that shits pretty funny

That dark shit isnt in style anymore bottomline. Three Six, Em and who ever else all changed they styles. Weegie Boards, Smoking Buddah, and Jack moves isnt gonna pay the bills in this day in age. You gotta atleast sound more believeable songs now.

It's not maturing and totally changing and working with Akon is selling out. At least they're still good, opposed to Three 6 that totally sold out, went commercial, and lost any semblance of quality

Yup. I like that album cuz it got a nice laid back feel to them. It really displays their sound. I could probably listen to that album all the way through no skipping.

Its called maturing. Its been over a decade since E1999 came out and these guys are in their 30's and are rap stars...
Real talk, they'd be corny if they were still talking that shoot em up, devilish, cop killing shit. Bone is the BEST group of all time, and they have matured well, which is the reason they are still as popular as they are.

so you think a group of black dudes in their 20s really were into communicating through the quija and bloody murders and shit like that? i always thought that was like dylan clebald/eric harris loner goth type shit. i just figure whoever was banking off of their sales was just pushing them to roll with that horror core hip hop style to target a certain audience...

exactly. so i dont know if theyve matured. i think theyve always just been about finding a formula and making some cash. if rapping about unicorns and butterscotch becomes hip in 10 years, then i think youll see bone in their 40s rapping about that shit (and nickatina fans pissed saying that king nicky was rapping about that shit way before anyone else did)

If you hatin on bone, you are wrong...

Bizzy, Krayzie, Flesh and layzie all go hard and say REAL shit. they practically invented the harmonizing melodic shit in rap. Plus, they spit the occult shit that no one else was fuckin with. Listen to faces of death, when they were just teens talkin bout what they did. Now listen to Strength and Loyalty, they grown men who have progressed. You have to appreciate music for the mindframe and thought process.

I met Layzie bone in the airport in atlanta, and though I only talked to him for maybe 4 or 5 minutes, he was humble and real. He spoke some of the realest shit, in a matter of 4 minutes, then i have heard in most my life. They used to be murda murda, but now, since they have matured and grown up... They dont have that anger anymore. Real recognize real...

Who said anything about them being into anything? We are talking about what they RAPPED about...the 2 have absolutely nothing in common. Anyone who thinks ANY of their favorite rappers do even a fraction of what they talk about in their songs...are guible and just plain stupid.
