BMI or ASCAP?

BMI or ASCAP which do you perfer? And why?

There really isn't much difference between the 2 except for ASCAP has a $10 membership fee. BMI is free. ASCAP is more socially oriented.....meaning that they have conventions and artist workshops as opposed to BMI who I don't believe do. It's really just up to you. I've asked this question plenty of times....and have never gotten a clear answer either.
