Can someone in the industry tell me how this works ? CD's are basically sold (after you figure inflated shipping costs and the other bullshit of having to buy one regular cd at $22) for $3-4 a piece BRAND NEW. That's 75% off what a cd costs in the store...
Now I know they've got that special "BMG" stamp on them.... so how does that work as far as money goes ? Is it still a soundscan ? I guess this is just something i've always been curious about..... after the album has been out for 3 months do the record labels just say fuck it and sell the album for a set price to these BMG/COLUMBIA HOUSE 12CD's for 1 companies ?
