I don't see why certain people are making such a huge deal about the fact that minorities don't get the same media coverage as whites do. This is FACT, and anyone who believes differently is missing some marbles inside of their head.

The fact that this particular story came out to be bull shit doesn't change how the media is run and has been run forever.

george bush and the media doesnt care about black people. but to be serious they hardly ever say anything about missing black people ever. there story will come up once maybe twice and thats it on the other hand a white person goes missing then world is flipped up side down to find them. to back up my story they are still talkin about the chick who dissappeared in aruba and the white chick who was a online porn star got more media attention. its not a black /white issue its just unfair

Pregnant attorney charged in kidnapping hoax

• Husband says Karyn McConnell Hancock had "a meltdown"
• She claimed two men and a woman abducted her, took her to Georgia

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- A pregnant attorney who police said made up a story about being kidnapped was charged Friday with making false alarms.

Karyn McConnell Hancock, 35, a former city councilwoman, never was abducted last week outside a the city's juvenile court building, police said.

Hancock's husband has said she had a "meltdown" and that she was seeking treatment.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Hancock was reported missing December 5 and was found three days later after she flagged down a motorist near Six Flags in Austell, Georgia. Her car was found nearby.

She told authorities that a man with a gun abducted her in downtown Toledo and forced into the back of a van, police said.

Police said she recanted the story Monday after meeting with investigators for about eight hours.
