hm well what i mean by turning shit around, is the mentality and the chances everyone has.
First, it starts with self-love, that goes with anything, from a whore to a corporation mogul, if you do not love yourself, then why is there worth to loving others?
Something like school, like succeeding in it, help induce this self-confidence and love, and seriously without me being successful in school, i dunno what the fuck woulda happened to me...i'd probably be at some crackhead's house in manstinka tryna get my fix on or some shit.
but i'm here, on the computer, going to college and learning about the world and how ignorance and the trend of it, perpetuates so much hatred, anger, and unneccessary ailments of society.
if anyone deserves to go to college, it's those who live in the ghetto's of america, none of these rich well-to-do bitch ass kids deserve what they have, not even one bit...
So, when i do become a teacher, then i will have the ability to show and prove to the kids of my class....i'll make sure they know that i know that this stuf that they are learning isn't whats the most important thing in life(like what some teachers try to do, and just annoy the fuck outta kids, like with nazi-like grading and point systems) but the level they get at in the nation-wide scale for schools.
The better you do in middle school, the better you do in high school, the better you do to get in college, and then thats the way you usually stay outta jail, getting murdered or whatnot.
It will be hard for me, i know, and it will be a long, tumultuous journey, but i'm in it cause this is what i feel what is truly right to do.

I feel u. Its a trip how when rap/hip hop kinda got its first bid in the national spotlight in the early 90s it was appreciated for keepin it real. People listened to rap, watched shit like Boyz N Da Hood, Colors etc to get a feel for what was happening in certain neighborhoods. It was more informative than CNN, 60Minutes or 20/20. Now b/c there hasnt been a change or fix in over 20 years, ppl r just tired of the problem and lookin 4 the nearest scapegoat - and that happens to be the music.

How did the social commentary for what was once an agreed upon trigger (drugs + gangs) to the violence and despotism (event) we see in the poor black neighborhoods all of a sudden get switched? How is that Rap (reaction) to be the median for communicating to the world the happenings become the trigger? Thats some BS right there...
DO they really want us to believe that crack, coke, prostitutes, firearms etc. stopped being the source and rap is now the substitute? We arent banning the movie Scarface, we're not black listing Al Pacino, or demanding no network ever run The Godfather..

Exactly... this Jason Whitlock dude is known for hating his own kind. Black people were pimpin', selling dope, waaaay before rap music came out. We in this country have developed a detremental tendency to shoot the messenger. Yes im talkin about that age old saying. What happens when the ppl get tired of hearin about how bad it is in Iraq and how many marine's are die'n n a lost cause? We tell the mf'n media to stop reporting on that. We put happy stories in the news to offset whats really goin on. Same thing with the murder rates in SF and Oak. When it gets to be too much the police n shit arent out there makin statements. Even tho the shit is in full effect we just opt to ignore it, or silence the messenger. The same thing is goin on w/ rap.

on sportscenter tonite they were interviewing antrelle rolle of the cardinals who was a child hood friend who grew up with sean through high school and played on the same collage team together....he was sayin that it was not a robbery it was a incedent over jealousy that sean was tryna improve himself and move away from the life he was livin and changeing the people he was associating himself with, that this was not the first incedent that its been ongoing and that he was in fear for his life and family the last couple months he had been home in the miami area...that old freinds people he road with in the past that he had distanced himself from as of late had it out for him due to him tryna get himself right.....im sure it might of had more to do with then jus this but from the get i did not feel it was a roberry cause they didnt report them takin anything and when they broke in and left a knife on his bed the week before they didnt speak of anything missen...but if he did die for tryna change the way he was livin that is some fucked up shit....
