It only translated into ONE championship. Bill Walsh won THREE. The purpose of the season is to win it all, not win more games than everyone else and then blow it when it matters (see SD Chargers of last year, ask them if their record made any difference when the Patriots beat them in the playoffs).

What the fuck does his game have to do with anything? You do understand that EA Sports controls everything about that game, right? They just use Madden's name and voice.

I like John Madden, I think he was a great coach and he's my favorite announcer, but was he a better coach than Bill Walsh? NO.

There's a difference between coaches and players.. Coaches are expected to WIN, that's all they get paid to do. They're expected to COACH the players to victory, to guide them in the right direction and teach them how to win. Dan Marino never won a championship because he never had a team that was good enough to do so. Blame his fuckin coaches.

Why do you think Marty was fired from SD? It sure as hell wasn't his regular season winning percentage that got him booted out. Use your fuckin head.

They hired Norv Turner because they wanted him to run their offense, and the Niners would not let him go to SD unless it was a promotion (in other words he couldn't be SD's offensive coordinator). That's why they hired him as Head Coach.
