with the nfl schedule coming out everyone gets more anticpated and shit for the season.....thought id make a new thread on opinions of whos going to be the biggest suprise and biggest let down this up coming season....

lets try not to get this into a 23 page "raider vs niner" thread......

ill start:

biggest suprise: houstan texans (hate to say it)......they are cards of the afc.....they have the talent in place but cant seem to get something really going.....there O-LINE is imporving and i see them taking o-line with there first pick (possibly levi brown).....new rb ahman green replaces the often injured dominic willilams (bka dominic davis)......and matt schaub has the chance to prove himself to the leauge....there D is pretty solid in some points and they have a lot of young talent......

they will probally not make the playoffs but i doubt they will pick in the top ten in the 08 draft like they have been almost every year of there existence

****************************************

biggest let down

chicago bears, i could be hella wrong but i had to pick somebody...even though they are in one of the worst divisons in football they still might miss the playoffs....."destiny" is working in there favor ethier because a lot of super bowl LOSERS often dont make the playoffs the follwoing year......rex grossman is a HUGE question mark on everybodys mind....he torched CBs in the first part of the season last year but looked like a complete chump in other games....cedric benson HAS to prove he his worth this year WITHOUT a solid number 2 behind him at this point.....lance briggs to many is the "REAL" line backer on that team and his future is allready detirmened with the team.....there corners got torched sometimes and played well other times...huge question marks all around the team and i see them missing the playoffs after a superbowl run

They could be a let down compared to last season, mainly because they have a lot tougher of a schedule this year, but I don't think there is anyway they will not make the playoffs, unless they have some major injuries (which can happen to any team).

cedric benson HAS to prove he his worth this year WITHOUT a solid number 2 behind him at this point.....
Benson does have a lot to prove but I think he can live up to the expectations. Da bears wouldn't let T.Jones go if they didn't think so. Benson is a solid north/south runner. Him & Adrian Peterson (who has shined everytime he got the ball) should be able to be a good one two punch, plus da bears will pick up a RB in the draft fasho.

Da bears are a running tream. Always have been and always will. You can kind of think of them similar to that of Denver (although not always as successful) - it doesn't really matter who gets the ball, they will produce positive yards. It's the system and VERY good offensive line that make them a running team.

lance briggs to many is the "REAL" line backer on that team and his future is allready detirmened with the team.....
Lance Briggs may be a loss (assuming they lose him) but we don't know who will replace him yet so it's anybodies guess. Plus, how good would Briggs be without Urlacher, et al around him? Put Briggs in a Redskins uniform and watch him have a horrible year stat wise.

there corners got torched sometimes and played well other times..
All corners get torched sometimes.

Vasher and Tillman are two of the best in the league, both Pro-Bowl caliber CB's and Tillman actually had the best season he's ever had last year (he didn't give up a single TD in the regular season).

huge question marks all around the team and i see them missing the playoffs after a superbowl run
Only question mark I see is Grossman and Benson. Defense should remain solid, if not better (which they certainly should be since Mike Brown will be back and they picked up Archuleta(sp?).)

rex grossman is a HUGE question mark on everybodys mind....he torched CBs in the first part of the season last year but looked like a complete chump in other games....
This is the only question. Thing is - last year was his first full season, he played two playoff games, one of those he won the game in overtime and a superbowl game. That right there is a TON of experience. No other QB went through the pressure and scrutiny that Grossman did so. I can only imagine him getting better. On the other hand, maybe he'll choke & Greise will start. We will have to wait and see but I have a feeling Grossman will have a pretty good year.

I think the Titans are gonna be a big letdown from the way they ended the season last year. VY got them gassed up for nothin, Travis Henry was the major factor in that offense last year. Their receivers are ASS. Young pulled some of those games outta his ass last year, and props to him for that but luck aint sumthin you can count on. They just dont have enought talent around him imo. Unless Lendale can prove hes not a fat lazy bastard I think they gonna have a huge letdown this year.

I dont know if you can count the Bengals as a surprise but since they didnt make the playoffs last year Ill say them. They gonna go to the AFC championship game I think, as long as they all have a 10 PM curfew.

Tony Romo? Cowboys are my team but heres where we get to see if hes the real deal or not. No more excuses for him and you know everything he does will be put under a microscope cuz of the hype about him.

bro i aint going to lie i hate to say it but i gotta agree....we were the least talented team last year and only went backwards....we can STILL win less games then we did last year and still "improve".....thing is......VY wont let this team lose.....he said he will do any thing and everything for them to win pretty much like last year....and "luck" isnt something any thing can COUNT on....but its something every "good" team gets here and there...Lendeezy better step it up or we still pursueing turner.......this offseason was all about the titans spouse to be getting better.....(we had the 2-3rd most cap room and didnt go after none of the big name FA......fish and our new gm said they have a "plan".....im not sure what that is but it does scare me a bit....

im just ready for the football season to start :knockout:
