young was a far better athlete. better numbers. he had quite a few weapons but nothing near what aikman had. aikman wouldnt have done squat if he had played for the colts in those days.

lets see

oline - aikman
rb - aikman
wr corps - aikman
defense - aikman
the only thing steve young had that was better than aikman is talent and skill.
wow he had jerry rice. aikman had irvin, harper, novacek, johnston. not even close. after rice there was a steep falloff in comparison to aikmans targets.

I'd give the WR/receiving corps to Young though because of Rice, J.T., Brent Jones, and the Niners used their running backs as receivers out of the backfield more than Dallas did.

WR - 49er's , Jerry Rice shits on Irvin, and John Taylor WRECKS Harper. Harper only has 191 career catches, with 21 touchdowns, and never a season over 1000 yards. Taylor had 347 catches, and 43 touchdowns, plus two 1000 yard seasons.

HB - Cowboys ,its hard to beat Smith, but Ricky Waters has the best hands of ANY RB ever, seeing the man catch a ball was just plane out pretty his hands where so soft.

TE - 49ers - Brent Jones

and overall the 49ers Offense shit on the crack boys.

Man WTF does Aaron Brooks have to do with this thread? You know you're not suprised you dumb mf.

But if you call yourself taking a shot at me or Aaron Brooks... Aaron Brooks made his career off of serving up the 49ers. Some of those comebacks you mentioned were against your squad. I mean he's the "only" quarterback in modern day history to have a 100 yard rushing game (vs the 49ers at Candlestick) and a 400 yard passing game (vs Denver) in the same season.... So it looks like Brooks carried the Saints on his back that day he rushed for over 100 yards against your defense. Remember that? LOL!!!!!

Now back to the topic of the thread....

1991 - 49ers 3rd ranked Offense, Cowboys 7th.
1992 - 49ers 1st ranked Offense. Cowboys 2nd.
1993- 49ers 1st ranked Offense, Cowboys 2nd.
1994 49ers 1st ranked Offense , Cowboys 2nd.
1995 49ers 1st ranked Offense, Cowboys 3rd.
1996 49ers 3rd ranked Offense , Cowboys 25th.
1997 49ers 5th ranked Offense , Cowboys 22nd.
1998 49ers 3rd ranked Offense , Cowboys 9th.

Over the time the Steve Young, and Troy Aikman both played 91-98, Aikman's team never scored more then the Young's once. Does that make the 49ers better over that period of time? offcourse not, 3 super bowl's to 1 is that stat the matters overall, Running Game, and Defense win's in January. Both teams did not wanna see each other in the play off's, the battles where bloody, and hard fought, the real super bowl.

The 49ers averaged the 2.25nd best offense, and cowboys averaged the 9th best offense from 91-98.
