Friday I heard a cd in my barbershop out in north Richmond. My boy D-Moore pretty much got just about everything new. All these lil cats come through tryin to get him to play they stuff. Anyway, I heard some stuff on Friday that was on hit. I usually dont say a word, I just nod my head if I like it. But I thought it just wasn't too many out there that could do it. C-bo (old Bo, when he was FIRST spittin), E-40 (Fuck N' Get Up!!) whatever, most these cats now just bullshittin. But what I heard inthe shop the other DAY!! DAYUM!! Thing about was, everybody was tryin to act like it wasn't a big deal. So I didn't want to look stupid and look like I DIDN't know who it was. Niggas is a trip. Anyway, we all inthere about 15 minutes, listenin, head-noddin, niggas didn't know WHO the fuck these fools was. Finally, This big head fool name MF Rube (Everybody out here knows Rube) come in an said D-Boy, who is these cats. Darryl says this is Sham over there in Southside. I really couldn't understand what the fuck that iliterate bastard was saying. Plus the music was up to loud. But I did heard him say Sham. He also said it wasn't out yet and he got a promo from his boy. a compilation. I didn't hear anybody onthere I knew. If I did, I never heard of em before anyway but it was somebody from Oakland adn somebody from North.
ALl these clowns in there was talkin like they knew who these fools was and was up on it. Lyin muthafuckas. But now, does anybody know wjo is sham from richmond.
That was the tightest shit I have heard inyears. YEARS! Iheard about 7 songs and 6 of em was hella tight. The other one had some kids on there that sounded like they was talkin so gotdamn fast I couldn't understand what the fuck the was sayin. I refuse to give props to that bullshit. I know hella people rap like that, but to me.... its weak. ANyway, I am curios to know if anybody else knows whatthe FUCK I'mtalkin about.
The only cats I heard from Richmond was CIN. Lil Ric is HELLA weak. Two or three cool tracks and thi nigga wanna live off his name. CIN was cool, but where they at noW? These niggas is legit. That shit had me hella juiced. Gangst shit.

Then whenthis fool knows everybody is peepin the cd, he takes it out and put in the new R-Kelley. Thats clownin

probably was a demo

Sham is my brother. Somehow he heard about this thread and asked me to look into it. So basically I had to do gopher work to find out what siccness.net was all about. But it was worth it, this is a pretty interesting forum. I had just joined raptalk the other day.
If you want to find out about him, the website is http://www.papertrailmusic.com

I would say he is a good producer, yes. Someone mentioned Cool-E. Cool-E and Sham are very close. He, Cool-E, Boogaloo, and Dorian Do (Dj-Do) used to have a group called Legit. Homies from way back. All good producers.
Someone else mentioned that Sham has flow. He is not a rapper, He will tell anybody that. He can do it, but's one of those things where he does it and can spit, but he knows what he is - a producer. He is the music behind PaperTrail. Album coming out called Ice-Cold Heat. I won't hype it up other than to say I think it is very high quality. Most of the people on there are relative unknowns, but there are a couple of people on it you will recognize.
Studio is in Richmond. Management and artists pretty much are in Oakland.

As for the demo in the barbershop. I put about 35 demos in Bay Area barber shops. Good to know the feedback was good.

Game Warden thanks for the breakdown on your brother. I sent him an e-mail on Friday w/ a copy of the 1st post by Marcell....I'm glad to hear he read it.
I just checked that site you posted and ever track in the backround was bangin! You guys got any releases, comps, or demos for sale? I'd like to throw some tracks up on my station.
Not often that some shit like this comes around and catches our ear in this fashion.

song

my man, what was the song on there about "baby momma, somethn somethin, nigga thats real, bitch cant stand on her own 2 feet, broke as fuck all in my grill. Thathad me rollin. Plus the song about I make the money, but the money never mademe. That was cool. It was a cool tape, though. Iheard about 5 on there. then it was that one wit the kids rappin all fast and shit. I didnt liek that one. The beat was cool, but I couldn't understand what the fuck heas sayin. But that was just one song. I dont go in my pocket much fa shit, but I woulda got it. When does it come out. Is Sham lookin for artists. I know a kid that goes to Richmond High right now who is really good. No bullshittin. I can tell you he is still raw, but if you are willin to work with him he will pay off. Plus all the youngsters already know him from talent shows and stuff. The young kid who was going fast onthere in my opinion was like a B rapper and ALL the other people was A rappers. My boy, with those kinda beats, couldmake yall a lot of money because I know he is better than that one kid.
You can mail me at gatewood34@yahoo and I'll get you in touch with my boy. Please, man. He is a youngster with a good head onhis shoulder. He spends money onstudio time but you know how that is. He has nobody to back him. If yall got beats to spare like that one for that fast rapper, just give my boy one shot and see what he can do.

the kid

Marcell, the "kid" whose style you didn't like is deceased. Beleieve me, we could have put dozens of songs onahead of that one... but there's no way we were going to take it off. 19 songs on the album, all are strong. that one is weaker than the others, but its not going anywhere.
The song about the babby momma was axed. Didn't make the cut.
The song called "Get the money." is on there. The artist is named Detrimental.
The demo you heard probably only had three songs on there from the album, the others got axed.

As for the kid at Richmond High. Go to the website and send a letter to the studio. I can't really vouch for someone Ihave never heard. You could just pay for an hour or two of studio time and let him get on and bust. Believe me if they see the talent, they will get at him.

LW-As for demo's, give me you address and we can work something out. You have an internet radio station. We have a marketing schedule that is really precise. It wont be in stores until early June, but... [email protected]
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised that the disc is better than the music on the site.
