Couldnt help but get this one started.....even though its not a dynasty, this Colts team was pretty serious...Where do u rank them in all time greatest NFL teams?? I was thinking pretty hard....the only team that I would say that is on a level with them would be the early 90s Cowboys teams and probably really only because of Emmit Smith....what team(s) is the best and how do u rank em? Im biased....but I still say that this team is pretty stacked

R U serious? Nah man, I'd put all cowboys teams, 85 bears, tampa bay, 76 raiders, green bay (66 & 96), Patriots, 89 49ers, 78 Steelers, and 72 dolphins all a head of the colts, amongst others.

Look, the colts did it this year and they are a solid team, no doubt, but they were a pretty average superbowl team. Even both Peyton Manning and Dungy admit that this years Colts were not as good as previous years.

You can look at my sig and brush that off as a bears fan trying to down play the colts, but most everyone will agree that this year colts doesn't come remotely close as being the best superbowl team ever, not even in the top 10.

I do agree with this sir.

They are nowhere near the Cowboys of 92-95....

I agree with 206..... The Colts were the best this year and they did what they had to do to win but to compare them with the greats....

They'd have to repeat first and then be compared. They can't fuck with the 89 49ers though.

Yeah there's no way...I don't even think this was the best Colts team in the past couple years. No team that is only rivaled by the 90's Cowboys would have lost to Jacksonville like that.

Why not? The playoffs are when everything counts. Once you enter the offseason, nothing you did during the regular season makes any difference.. All it does is determine who you will be playing and where you will be playing, if you will be playing at all. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they're anywhere near the top of the championship ladder, but your arguement is invalid.

^^ Or even the 94 Niners. I was glad to see the Colts finally take it, but they shouldn't even be mentioned when it comes to great NFL Championship teams.
I was going to say the 94 Niners and the 89 Niners.

wait till 4 years and if they have atleast 2 then consider them the top till then they aint got shit on my pats or even the steelers of lastyear for that matter. if the pats had a stronger back feild wit harrison in it would been a rap for ur colts cuz they would be too scared to run slants and thats what killed us. and if the bears had a good QB then that game woulda been a wrap too

It doesn't matter how many Championships they get in the next 4 years.. This thread is about this year's team compared to other Super Bowl Champions. And this Colts team is better than the Steelers of last year.

You can't say "if we had this or that it woulda been a wrap.." Fact is your team didn't have it, and it was a wrap.. For the Patriots. Even if they did have Harisson, the Colts would have just changed their gameplan if it was really going to be a problem.

And LOL @ "and if the bears had a good QB then that game woulda been a wrap too"

So the fact that the Bears' defense couldn't stop the pass or run would not have meant anything if the Bears had a good QB? LOL!

I find it surprising how little respect most(not all) of u are giving my question that I posed....IM not talking about dynastys(but that does make a team more impressive), im talking about what team was the best the year they won....if u look at the talent on this team, along with its coaching/special teams, they were a GREAT team..no question, big plays is what makes it happen.....and it happened.....only teams so far that ive seen mentioned that I think would be serious opponents would be the niners and cowboys dynasties....maybe only because of their elite qbs AND Deion Sanders....as for the patriots "dynasty" to each their own....but id say they got lucky with their shit.....shit call against Oakland in the playoffs and thats Word...lackluster opposition in the superbowl....perhaps Grossman does put a tarnish on this victory, the Colts have been a great team though....2 years in a row they won at least 10 victories to start the season....thats big time, sure there RUN defense sucked 4 the most part.....OK! But they had the takeaways/turnovers.....I just look at the Colts team and see star players in every element of their franchise, just gotta be honest....I think my point is valid

I thought every team in tha NFL this year played like shit when tha playoff's came around, except fo tha patriots & of course tha champs but only in the superbowl I thought they played good. pats they lost but damn they had payton's ass praying his ass off on tha side lines. I got respect fo them niggaz, to come like that with tha rest of the country ignoring them. I wouldnt doubt if they came next year to win it all. & this is coming from someone who hates new england.
