i think 3rd st gym is the only strictly boxing gym in the city. straight forward club is also based in frisco but i have no idea where they train anymore. oakland has kings gym and i think theres some other gym around west oakland. theres several gyms in the city and oakland that do boxing at kickboxing gyms too.

Kings is the largest (as far as number of trainers and members) and most famous. Nice atmosphere to train in, very traditional, lots of current pros and ex champs. 35th and East 9th in the town (between the railroad tracks and the freeway, use mapblast). Bay Area Boxing/Red & White out in Rodeo is a really nice gym too. A lot like Kings but smaller. Theres a few gyms in SLeandro, a million in San Jo. 3rd st Gym in Frisco is ok. Its a newer gym, trainers are kinda young, prices are really high. A lot of colleges out here have programs too.

Oh and East Oakland Boxing Association on 98th in the town. I believe that gym is actually free, but the quality is kinda iffy. The gym as a whole is really innactive.

USF has the biggest program as far as I kno. They put on some of the nicest amateur shows i've seen too. Smoke machines, spot lights, entrance music and everything. I believe Chabot, Hayward State (CSUEB), SJ State and Santa Clara U have programs too, not too familiar with college boxing tho. I was always told collegiate boxing programs were of low quality, but ya, worth researching anyways.

Fa Sho, I like that gym a lot. Same type of atmosphere as Bay Area/Red&White, smaller tho. Its in Santa Clara next to the Jazzercise gym haha. On Benton I think, in the parking lot of that big park where the Spring Soccer league games are at.
