Yeah I know that Mall used Pato Banton's song "Panto's Opinion 2" for "My Opinion" Either way though sick beat and song from Mall. I love reggae and ragga so I have alot of cds/vinyl/tapes in those genres.

Damn with UGK that is a tough one. They are a great group. I would start with Ridin' Dirty. That has the two songs I named and IMO just about every song on that album is classic. All of UGK's albums are really good though.

You seem to know your music too SFWOOD..good to see more people like yourself on the Siccness. You said you are in your 30's in a previous thread...I am 25 so I am sure there are some artist you could introduce me to. I am always open to listen to new music and artists.

Stay up SFWOOD.

right on, I'll check for "Ridin Dirty" ......... that's the album most say... but eveyone also says "all the UGK albums are dope"..... don't want to go the greatest hits route, you don't get the vibe of an album when you do that.... I've known about UGK (can't listen to everything) but after I heard what Bun-B did on the Jim Jones album (track 8) I was like "what the fuck.. who is that???" I'm surprised Dipset kept Bun-B on the album after hearing how he murdered that track, makes them (and TI) look bad....

if you listen to alternative shit... I'd reccomend Zero 7 "Simple Things" outta the UK (keep in mind, it's downtempo, chill shit) a perfect record... came out in 2001, but got hip to them a year ago... a masterpiece (you might have it already)

if you apreciate Jimi Hendrix, Coltrane, Sly Stone etc. etc... go and grab Shuggie Otis "Inspiration Information" came out in 1974, soulful psychedelic rock... he produced and played all the instruments... did that shit outta his teens and then disappeared... folks finally starting to recognize what he did...

I'm sure you got that Jacka CD... (might go down as the most listened to Rap album ever for me)

yeah, i listen to everything from The Smiths, Etta James, Sade, Miles Davis, Zepplin, House... whatever you know... mostly smooth shit

I think my new things gonna be DUB... I wasn't feeling it back in the days (didn't smoke) but I'm telling you, that shit right there is some tripped-out shit... might start bumping DUB in the ride for a LONG TIME... make it the "new thing"

anyone who puts Joy Division on his sig and posts on the siccness.net. doesn't give a fuck... gotta respect that...

peace

Yeah I am big on rock music in general. I already got Inspiration Information...great album. I am a big fan of Coltrane and Stone...all those artist for that matter. I have never heard of Zero 7. I will be sure to check them out. I like quite a bit of dub...but I like reggae and ragga more. Burning Spear, King Tubby, Junior Delgado, and Joe Gibbs are some DUB artists I would say to check out.

About Joy Division...I just recently really listend to their music. I had heard songs here and there and thought they were good. I saw their box set like 3-4 weeks ago for cheap and it had almost everyting they ever recorded including singles and both albums...so I picked it up. It has been just about the only thing I have listend to since. Ian Curtis's lyrics and voice are amazing in my opinion. I am also a huge The Smiths/Morrissey fan...I got just about every album they/he has put out.

Oh yeah and I got the Jack Artist the day it droped. Stays in constant rotation in the ride and the house. I think it is the best rap album to drop this year (possibilly of any genre of music.)

Stay up...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

right on dude, you know your shit... good-looking out for dropping the names, I'll run those DUB artists by my homie... I went through my Dance Hall/Reggae phase, so I remember a few DUB artists like Mad Professor... but I'm gonna have to see if it was the DUB or the smoke (maybe both) cuz damm, I was feeling that shit...

don't fuck with the new Zero 7.. get "simple things" if you saw the movie "Garden State" they used a Zero 7 cut when dude drops E... more mood, less lyrics though

ohh and growing up, all the freaks listened to Morrissy... "tell Shella to take a bow"
