i could be wrong but i think the reason all the mainstream rap is mostly east coast dominated is because mtv is based on the east coast and they are gunna rep the east just as hard as we rep the bay. and what mtv plays is what is gunna be mainstream. or maybe its because most bay rappers dont want to fuck with the mainstream industry. nickatina said "IT'S COOL FOR THE PEOPLE THAT LISTEN AND KNOW WHATS GOING ON BECUZ IT SEEMS LIKE OUR LIL SECRET THAT EVERBODY DONT NEED TO KNOW ABOUT." i think that's the way a lot of bay rappers feel.

@WAXFASE, i dont think the post starter meant to clown or disrespect. When i gave my input it was simply to say i understand how the next nigga feel. The Bay is hot, We got a lot of talent out here, i've worked wit many of em. But the thing is we get mad at Kmel because they not constantly spinnin bay Music , and to be honest, nobody wants to here the shit, Sure we might have a few club bangers, but listen to 50, listen to nas, listen to jay-z, Eric sermon, meth...... They got what people wanna hear! hot shit! dance shit! The bay is stuck in 1992 and it is no ones fault but ourselves, alotta cats scared to try new shit too. We cant be mad at what the public wants. The Bay is only a small small portion of this hip hop game when it comes to the whole. Plus we are not playing with major money either to pay off theze disc jockeys or to get videos and commercials.. that actually get played on mtv, bet, not CMC, or our local rap channels.
They are gonna keep overlookin the bay, and they wont toss no major bread our way until someone does the thang.

Another thing about mac hayo or yayo had said was that Mtv is on the eastcoast. Right! Remember when the west was bein played back to back on mtv? Coolio, Dr. DRe, snoop, dpg, Eazy-e, Cube etc... we was doin it then and thats not bay thats L.A. still was westcoast. look at what they did, thats how we gotta hit except on some 2004 shit. and Bet, i remember when they would spin Rbl's how we comin, tru, Money by the ton-C-bo, Too short, and when they did hour long specials with Dru Down and showed nuttn but dru down videos, same wit luniz!! they mainly east coast cats but look we was gettin play, major play. And to argue your point, I've lived in about 10 different states, on all sides basically, (alaska & hawaii as well), and I can definitely say MY world DOES revolve around the bay. Even when Im down south in San Diego. Fuck it, bay area is still my life.

@WaxFase-Yes you may be right about what your people want to hear, but theres a majority out there that doesnt really care for bay music, like they used to. Once cats start sum'n new instead of trying to carry a lost dynasty then we will see heavy rotations and alot more luv. Times have changed and so have people. Instead of makin albumz about highsiden, voguez, triple goldz, im perved , im swerved type rap, we need to get on 2 sum'n else. I mean thats where it started in the bay! but now is a new era, everybody aint doin that, + over 89% of bay music is bout pushin yola, lettn off on niggaz, i've heard it, and i like it, but once again, the majority dont wanna hear it. They want jigga, nelly and diddy. We are not competing with them in any fashion at this moment! If cats wanna keep the style, cool, they can be regional and cater to a few outside fans, but dont get mad because a major dont wanna play ya video or spin ya single with that kinda stuff on it.
