i think bay rap needs to be pushed better by the lables after hearing that lables pay BET to air their music it is the only way to get known now some songs are getting played and they suck really mainstream has gotten worst due to songs like lip gloss and pop lock and drop it. also i think they need to choose their singles carefully don't release a song with a sample without proper copyrights ie. stunna glasses at night, vans, and ghost ride it all shot down. also once you realease a single drop a video quick not months later when the song gets played out ie. ghost ride it and super hyphy version 2. i just think we gotta be smarter

So last year was supposed to be our YEAR TO BLOW.. Aside from E-40 who did ok by media standard... everyone else pretty much flopped, was held back, and is now bound to flop. Lets look at the line up of some of the people who were SUPPOSED to blow.

E-40- 500k, pretty good for media standards. But didn't actually BLOW.

Mista Fab- the buzz for ghost ride it died down, trouble clearing the sample. Held back, and will take a miracle for him to blow now. First single flops, its hard to catch up after.

The Pack- Video premeired on 106andPark for Vans, never heard of again. Their LP flops.

The Federation- video single for 18DUmmy doesnt take off, trouble clearing Stunna Shades... thats 2 video singles down the drain. Album delayed big time...Again, will take a miracle for them to blow.

Who do we have left?

Ya Boy

Clyde Carson...

only time will tell.
Correction:

E40 is at damn near 700k and like I said in another thread the federation has yet to be marketed or promoted nationally and 18 was never intended to be released. It was for a dvd only. The fed will have their official campaign to the world in the next few months as the marketing is soon to begin for their upcoming album.

The majors are the powers the be & can push anyone into oblivion. A lot of the mainstream music from thw south is garbage but them fools are getting all the deals & radio play. The masses shove shit down the peoples throat. When they decide 2 come back 2 the Bay then thatz when the Bay will blow again but until then we gotta deal with the invasion of snap, crunk, southern coon music just like I gotta deal with the hyphy coon music by me livin in Northern Cali.

Who cares anymore? Shit that "Blows" up now is garbage so I'm just confused why the bay didnt blow up because most of the shit put out IS and WAS garbage last year and this year. If you really think songs like Fast Like a Nascar will be felt across the country you on crack. What happened to at least DECENT shit. At least put out some DECENT shit. I cant wait for the commercial music industry to Implode and go bankrupt. 40 Going gold is like Platinum. Going gold nowdays is Platinum. Congrats to him.

the reason was probably cause the bay area was treated like a fad,

yall came and went away quick, why? ummm probably cause of the weird taste of culture, nobody really likes going dumb or wearing all that colorfull rainbow skittle shit, only you guys think its cool......

and

no disrespect.. but e-40 was carryin the cross all by himself, now that he's taking a break, the bay seems like it disapeared

only snoop is puttin in work for the bay right now, but not enough im guessing

Game and e-40 brought the westcoast back, and now bolth of them are taking a break, this should be the best time for all you rappers to put your shit out, the west is back, use it as your advantage
