Now that some bay area artists are getting some notable recognition, do you really think that the bay or hyphy movement is moving in the right direction. What I mean is, if the established figure heads of bay area music, as seen by popular culture, E-40, Keak Da Sneak, etc, blow up nationwide with hyphy music, then music is going to be saturated with the same messages over and over again, like what happened with the cash money millionares, Bling Bling hit and then everything from everybody for 2 years was bling bling. I'm starting to think that this coveted attention isnt the best thing for the music, like Andre Nickatina has made great shit for years, and I'm sure he doesnt want to be on MTV. This music is our music and i dont think it should be packaged up for worldwide distribution, or at least just not yet. What do you all think?

i think its about time they show that this bullshit party image is only a percent of it....they need to know that bay music is ALL hyphy....not just the party songs....

im sorry, but 40 wasnt th right person to represent the bay at all IMO....but i guess like they say, you got the money and connections, you can do anything

mob figaz, andre nickatina, san quin, messy marv, dubee, yukmouth, mac mall, keak, etc....shit, i cant deny talent, 40.....as much as i dont like his "hyphy" shit....

the bay gots talent....and its REAL....aint no studio bullshit....muphuckas be doin this shit everyday..

Not really cause what about non hphy people like Heiro and Zion I or san quin and messy marv they arent hyphy but they should get the same amount of exposer

real talk. hyphy is going in the direction for the kids. i feel you though, the slaps used to be gangsta which made them hyphy. now hyphy is basically funny music. cant lie, still some slaps here and there.........

ANY rapper who says they do it for the love and don't want to blow up on a national level, or doesn't want to be on MTV is fulla shit! And any fan that believes it is just as dumb. And not in a hyphy stewie way, but in a you shouldn't have dropped out in the 10th grade kinda way.

I hope in time people will recognize that The Bay area isn't just all about being on the Hyphy tip like Atlanta isn't just on that Crunk tip.

Most of that crunk music in Atl is garbage just like most of the hyphy shit in the bay is garbage cuz most these cats are just jumping on a bandwagon to try to get some shine like a fuckin 80s hair band. I have respect for the originators but no love for the imitators you know

You got cats that do it right and others that just need to hang it up and go home.

We got a versitile scene out here, we got the hyphy shit, the gangster mob shit and not to mention one of the best hip hop scenes in the country. I won't be satisfied till the whole country recognizes that we aren't a one flavor region over here.
